This was very well written. And you do have to wonder just how affected Yusuke would have been by his demon blood. Aging and the mazoku diet alone you think would spawn a million fanfics.

This piece really.. touched me in a way.. But in another way, it actually hurt me. I mean, I'm no stranger to killing off characters, just read some of my stuff and you'll see, but right now.. Well, I lost my Dad a couple years ago in a bad car wreck. He died instantly without pain, to the best of our knowledge, which is really the only consolation my family lives with sometimes. But about a week ago my Uncle, Dad's brother, suffered a massive stroke. He survived, luckily.. but unluckily had to be placed in a nursing home. I say unluckily because those people just don't care about him. They handle him roughly, on the most part. He's lost use of both of his arms so he can't use the button to call for help so he yells out and they come in and tell him to shut up. On top of that, they've told his family that they want the deed to his house, his property, his cars, whatever it'll take to pay for their 'care'. Well, sorry I gushed all of that out, but it's just been a drama that we've been dealing with. So, yeah, your story really hit a nerve with me because of it's realism. My grandmother, Dad's mom, had Altzhimer's way back when they just called it 'Senililty'. I was very young then, but I remember the things my parents had to deal with concerning her. It was rough, so this is another way your story has touched me. Oh, geesh.. Sorry this was so long. What I really meant to say, is Great Realism! I'll stop now and crawl back to my happy place.

it maybe angsty, but it is the truth. i had witnessed my grandfathers death about 15yrs ago, so this story just makes us realaize that death can come whenever we aren't looking and of course fullfilling a promise to a very beloved friend.

    thanks.
