Disclaimer: I in absolutely no way own Yu Yu Hakusho, and I made no money from writing this fiction. |
So, as majority of my fics lately have been happening, I was listening to music, and it inspired me to write. Apparently I've been listening to depressing/fluffy kind of music lately, because this fic... Well, read and find out.
And, I know Hiei's kind of OOC, but... It was required for the writing of this fic, so while I apologize, I have to ask you to give it a chance and read. Warnings: Sex. A little language. Angst. Thoughts/talk of suicide. This was read-over by my lovely best friend, though I did go through and add stuff, so mistakes are mine. Disclaimer: I own next to nothing. Like, I don't even own my car, so I definitely don't own Yu Yu Hakusho, as much as I wish I did. I make no money from this (the 'fan' part of fanfiction). I am a lowly colllege student who has no money, so if you sue me, you'll get nothing... ............................................................................................................................................................... The edge of the world. That’s what it felt like. Hiei sat, his gaze overlooking the Makai, his legs dangling over the edge of a cliff that allowed him to see for miles in every direction. His could see Mukuro’s territory, where he was supposed to be an heir. He wasn’t interested in that, not anymore. It didn’t matter if he took over, because after Yuskue’s fucking demon tournament, he wouldn’t be ruling himself. He’d be under someone else’s rule, still. And, while the notion of fighting and cutting a bloody path through demons to rule all of Demon World was tempting, after the second tournament, it just seemed exhausting to even try. His mother’s tear gem, and Yukina’s were in his sister’s possession, along with a note that explained and apologized for everything. All three items were hidden, and hidden well. Oh, yes, Yukina would find them eventually, but if Hiei had hidden it as well as he hoped he did it wouldn’t be for years. Long enough for the pain to fade. Long enough for him to be forgiven for just… Disappearing. None of them would legitimately know what had happened to him. For all they would knew, he’d disappeared into the Demon World, and he was never heard from again. Koenma would be the only one to know the truth, and probably Botan, but he’d threaten both of them to keep quiet if they knew what was good for them. The small fire apparition took a deep breath and stood. If he could apologize, he would, but there would be someone appealing to him, trying to stop him. And Hiei didn’t need that. Wind swept over the cliff, ruffling Hiei’s hair and cloak as he stood, his hands in his pockets, considering the last few moments of his life. “You know, Hiei, there’s every likelihood that that fall isn’t going to kill you.” Hiei physically jumped and cursed himself for it. He turned to glare at the redhead standing behind him. Kurama stood, his hands tucked casually into the pockets of his slacks, an emerald green shirt making his green eyes nearly glow in the coming dark. Hiei glared again, turning his gaze away from the redhead. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, fox. You’re delusional. Go bother someone else who might actually care.” He heard Kurama sigh deeply, and felt the former Youko’s presence as he stepped up beside him. “You treat me as if I’m unintelligent Hiei. Please don’t. You’re not the type to sit back and admire the view from up here,” Hiei made a noise of irritation and Kurama just shook his head. “Please don’t be coy with me, Hiei.” “I had plans to die, tonight, Fox. You’re interfering.” “Do you really have any idea what you’re saying, Hiei? Not that it’s a bad plan as a whole, but I never thought you’d be the one of us to take this step. Yuskue, perhaps if he was feeling rash enough, but not you.” “Hn,” Kurama was silent as he waited for Hiei to speak again, watching him with sharp verdant eyes. The fire demon shook himself finally, glaring up at Kurama. “It’s none of your business. You’re happy with your human life. Yukina chose to stay with a human mate, even Yuskue,” Blood red colored eyes turned to Kurama for a moment, before looking back over the Demon world. “I’ve no place here. It’s more simple this way. I’m forbidden, Kurama, and I can no longer get away with being a thief or a terror to the human and spirit worlds.” Kurama silently considered that. It was true, of their team, Hiei was the only one with real desire to return to demon world for the time being. Kurama had taken over his step father’s company, at least until his human mother died, though it was becoming harder to explain how slowly his human body was aging. He hadn’t realized it at first, but since transforming into Youko, his aging process had slowed incredibly. Yuskue was having the same problem as his demon blood really started to take effect. Yukina was mated to Kuwabara, staying in the human world with him, working to help demons integrate into the human world. The fox sighed, shaking his head. “I guess that’s true. But, there are other alternatives. What about Mukuro?” Hiei glared, his gaze sharp. “She doesn’t know about this, and she’s not prepared to step down any time soon. She’ll have found another heir by the time she needs one.” “You’re not interested in ruling a third of the Demon world? From her you could inherit an empire.” Hiei shrugged. “I wouldn’t be ruling. I’d have a kingdom, just like you or Yuskue, but it’s not ruling.” “That is to say that Yomi would ever hand over his kingdom to me. Shura is his son you know.” Garnet eyes rolled. “Sure,” He sighed. “I think Yomi would happily let you take over his land.” Kurama shrugged, and the two demons fell once again into silence. Hiei, finally fed up with the silence and the delay, took a step forward, only to stop with a growl as Kurama’s hand fell on his arm. The smaller demon snarled and Kurama only smiled. “Hiei, stop and consider this for a moment. You could always stay with me in the human world. I won’t be there forever.” Red eyes considered the still form standing slightly behind him. Kurama was staring back with a somewhat unreadable expression as he watched Hiei. Hiei tugged his arm gently out of Kurama’s grip, glaring at the fox, dropping his gaze from the sharp red eyes. “What are you talking about, Kurama? You have a life and I don’t want to be stuck in the Human world. I’m not interested in a life like that until you’re ready to return home.” Kurama smiled, shaking his head. “You wouldn’t be stuck there, Hiei. We can return for short times. Take vacations. You wouldn’t be alone. Hiei…” Intense eyes turned on Kurama, staring at him seriously. The stare down continued for a few moments, before Hiei shook himself. He wasn’t in the mood for a stare down with Youko Kurama. He didn’t have the energy at the moment that it would take to seriously compete. “What are you asking, Kurama?” Green eyes were hidden momentarily behind lids, before he cocked his head to the side, smiling at Hiei. “Come with me , Hiei.” “You’re crazy, stupid fox.” He shrugged. “Possibly, but that’s part of why you put up with me, isn’t it?” Red eyes narrowed and he considered Kurama’s earnest expression. Hiei relaxed slightly, taking a step back from the edge of the cliff. Kurama smiled, running the hand up Hiei’s arm, leaning down to brush his lips across Hiei’s cheek. The smaller demon pulled away with a jerk, looking at Kurama, again suspiciously. “I’m not going to hurt you, Hiei.” “You do, and I’ll be off this cliff before you know what happened. You have one night, and if you screw it up, I’ll be gone and you’ll never see it coming,” Hiei threatened, entirely serious, though he had to relax slightly more under the intense glare of the kitsune. The Kitsune was infamous for being playful, but this wasn’t an offer Hiei thought he would make in jest. Kurama just smiled gently, cupping Hiei’s cheeks in his hands. “I know, Hiei. I don’t doubt that for a second. Come with me?” Hiei nodded slowly, and didn’t pull away as Kurama leaned in to kiss him again. Sexual tension wasn’t unusual between demons who trusted one another. If they were unmated, sex was just another way of expressing that trust. It showed a vulnerability that most demons kept hidden away. Violent rutting during heat or in mutual lust or rape weren’t uncommon, but it wasn’t the same as sexual tension. Desiring someone else and welcoming their touch for more than a night or two. Mutual desire. Kurama gave Hiei a small smile, kissing him again lightly, before stepping back and pulling Hiei with him. “Come on, Hiei. Come away with me. For tonight, at least,” He took Hiei’s hands in his own, pulling him after him. “If you decide tomorrow that it’s not worth going back to human world with me, I’ll help you do whatever you please.” Hiei started at the offer, considering Kurama with a frown. He nodded slowly. That offer, more than anything else, convinced Hiei that Kurama was serious in this offer. Hiei had never considered that the fox would ever actually be interested in him, the forbidden child. Even in his human body, the kitsune could have anyone he wanted, easily. Even unconsciously, he was a sensual creature. If the fire apparition had even considered he could have a chance with the fox, he would have tried so much sooner. He wouldn’t have felt so alone. Kurama had been his partner for years, one of the few people in his entire life he had ever trusted, ever cared about. The grip Kurama kept on his hand as they trekked through the forest convinced Hiei that maybe he should have tried sooner. ……………………………………………… “Kurama…” Hiei was panting, on his knees, with his hands tied together and stretched above his head, vines wrapping up his arms, nearly to his shoulders, intertwined with the plush moss Kurama had created as a bed on the floor of the cave. Hiei had had no idea about the cave, but he shouldn’t have been surprised that the fox had hideaways across demon world. Human world too. If he could think straight, he wouldn’t have been surprised to find large collections of treasures hidden around the cave. But, at the moment, Hiei was far from thinking straight. The almost petite demon was stripped naked, and Kurama was driving him completely insane. A sheen of sweat stood out over his pale skin as Kurama ran a hand up his back. The redhead leaned over Hiei’s back, a curtain of hair falling over his shoulders like water, touching Hiei’s skin in feather light touches. “Can you take it, Hiei? Do you still want me?” Hiei dropped his forehead as hard as he could against the floor, though Kurama’s make shift mattress prevented any actual damage to his head. Hiei arched his back, pressing back into the redhead’s touch with a groan. “Y-y-yes, Kurama. Pleasepleaseplease,” He was beyond caring that he was begging. He hadn’t realized he’d been waiting years for Kurama until he’d had Kurama’s hands on him and now he couldn’t get enough. Kurama smirked, pressing a kiss against Hiei’s shoulder, before sinking his teeth into his shoulder, nearly hard enough to draw blood. Hiei cried out, arching is back again. Kurama smirked again, this time against the fire demon’s heated skin, before pulling away. “Don’t go, Kurama, please. Don’t go, don’t,” Hiei couldn’t stand it if Kurama left him like this. Jumping would be a kind way to end it if Kurama hurt him like that. Kurama sh’d him gently, slipping behind Hiei as he ran his hands up the small demon’s sides. “I’m never leaving you, Hiei. I can’t let you go. Not now,” He murmured, keeping a hand on Hiei as he dipped fingers in a slick sap from a plant he’d prepared before. Kurama was anything if prepared, and he hadn’t wanted to have to wait on this. He pressed slicked fingers to Hiei’s entrance, and the fire demon whined, pressing back against him. Kurama responded to Hiei’s soft ‘please’, by quickly, but effectively preparing the other demon. The fox had promised not to hurt Hiei, and he meant it. He knew that Hiei had meant mentally and emotionally, despite the strength that the small demon wanted to project. He would deny his own emotions to the last moment, but Kurama knew the small demon’s feelings ran deeper than he would ever admit, even to himself. But, Kurama also wasn’t willing to hurt Hiei physically. Not more than was necessary. He knew that no matter how much the fire demon trusted him, he had been expecting something hard, fast, and rough. And, while Kurama had left a multitude of bruises on the smaller demon, littering pale skin with dark marks in the shape of his teeth and impressions from his fingertips, his entire focus was on Hiei’s pleasure. Ripping into the smaller demon wasn’t a part of that plan. Hiei whined, his shoulder blades standing out in stark contrast as he arched his back even further than before. Kurama was teasing him, his fingers pushing deep into his body, brushing his prostate repeatedly. He gathered enough wits to growl at the fox demon. “Don’t tease me, you bastard.” Kurama finally chuckled, leaning over Hiei’s back to kiss the back of his neck as he slicked himself. “Bastard, am I? And here I thought I was just being considerate. Foreplay.” “You passed foreplay a while ago. You’ve just passed into enjoying yourself too damn much,” Hiei’s response was cut off as Kurama thrust into him, the words ending on a mix of a gasp and a growl. The fox smirked against Hiei’s skin as he stilled, allowing the smaller body to adjust, and allowing himself a moment to regain his composure. He hadn’t been with many people in his human body, and while he had been a world rewound lover, Hiei’s body was hot and tight and Kurama actually liked the demon under him. The emotion made a difference. A big one. He was also a little concerned about his smaller lover. Hiei was very petite, and even as Youko, Kurama had rarely taken a lover so much smaller than himself. In all honesty, the demon was child-like in size, and while he’d been more than willing to bruise the smaller demon, he didn’t want to seriously damage his body. Hiei grunted in frustration, shifting his body as much as possible to push back against Kurama. “I’m not going to break, baka kitsune. Stop holding back,” Hiei tried to put as much intimidation into that growl as possible, but that wasn’t the easiest thing to do in his position. Kurama proved this as he chuckled, pressing up onto his knees to grip Hiei’s hips. “Patience, little dragon. Patience.” Hiei growled, but Kurama rolled his hips before the fire apparition could say anything. He gripped the smaller demon’s hips in a vice grip, setting a fast pace as he pounded into him. Hiei lost all train of thought, his world whirring into a whirl wind of cries and growls and pants and the sound of flesh moving over flesh. Kurama felt his body start to tense, heat pooling through his body. He shifted, allowing himself room to shift his hand under Hiei, gripping the other demon’s cock in a tight, slick grip. Hiei cried out, louder than before, his body gripping Kurama even tighter than before. The redhead cried out, stroking Hiei with a tight grip, determined to bring Hiei off before he finished himself. It didn’t take long. Bo demons had been waiting for this for far too long to last. Hiei cried out first, Kurama’s name spilling from his lips like a prayer. Kurama shouted Hiei’s name moments later, the smaller demon’s body milking the redhead for all that he was worth. Hiei collapsed, vines snaking down his arms to retreat into seeds. Kurama sank to the side, rubbing his hands up and down Hiei’s arms to work feeling back into the thin, but muscled limbs. Hiei’s breath came out in soft pants, his eyes closed, his entire body radiating an air of content. Kurama smiled lightly as Hiei allowed himself to be cuddled. He was silent for a few moments, just stroking Hiei’s skin before he spoke. “So, are you coming back with me?” What Hiei didn’t know was that if he even considered saying no, Kurama was going to tie him up, and drag him back with him kicking and screaming if he so had to. Keep the fiery little demon tied up and so sexually sated constantly that he didn’t have a chance to want to leave. Despite what he’d said, Kurama would have hindered Hiei every step of the way to complete his mission. He couldn’t have helped. But, it would be quite a bit easier of Hiei just said yes. Red eyes blinked open slowly, and the small demon rolled slightly onto his back to look at Kurama seriously through still glazed eyes. He blinked slowly, and nodded his acceptance, before closing his eyes again, relaxing against Kurama. The fox smirked, curling around the smaller demon to sleep before their trip back to human world. ………………………………………………………………………… “Fox?” “Yes, Hiei?” “If I ask you something, will you answer me and answer me honestly?” Kurama blinked, looking up at Hiei from over the top of a book curiously. The fire demon had been living with Kurama in Ningenkai. They had visited the demon world regularly, and at Kurama’s insistence, they’d kept up with their friends. Yukina had, in a cleaning of the temple, found Hiei’s note and apology, before the fire demon had had the chance to go and remove it. He hadn’t expected to be around for her to read it, and he wasn’t entirely sure how to handle the situation now that she knew. He’d expected anger or yelling or… Something. Something other than Yukina’s easy acceptance and near joy at knowing that Hiei was her brother. When she’d questioned him about the note, he’d made something up about not knowing how to break it to her, and allowing her to find out in her own time. It was somewhat true, but he was in no way willing to inform her that he hadn’t expected to be around when Yukina found it. It was a different life style than Hiei was used to. Comfortable. Hiei wasn’t quite sure about he felt about it, but he wasn’t willing to let Kurama go, so he was going to put up with the comfort. It wasn’t bad. Just different. Tolerable, until the fox was ready to return to their true home. “Of course, Hiei,” Kurama studied him with dark green eyes. “Have I been anything but honest with you as of yet?” “Hn,” So, the answer was no. Kurama may have occasionally evading answering or given anything but a straight answer, but he had never straight out lied. Hell, Kurama had even told his mother than he was in a relationship with Hiei, open and honest about everything. Hiei sighed, dropping his gaze from Kurama’s. “Why were you there, that day? On the cliff?” Kurama was silent, and Hiei had expected him to be. That was part of why he’d directly asked if Kurama would answer him. He’d known if Kurama said he would answer, he would. Though, the silence stretched on a little longer than Hiei had expected it to. He frowned, glancing up at the fox. Kurama was studying the floor rather intently. Hiei sat patiently, letting the silence stretch out until the fox was ready to speak. The redhead finally sighed. “I didn’t realize quite how much doing something like that would hurt the people I loved until I saw you there, and it tore me up inside,” He said gently. Hiei blinked slowly, processing the information. Part of him had been expecting that answer, but he wasn’t sure how to respond. Some part of him had honestly been hoping that Kurama had followed him there or felt his energy sought him out. Hiei blinked again, his gaze focused on the fox. “You were going to jump, too.” It was a statement, not a question, but Kurama nodded anyways. “Yes, but I couldn’t bear the thought of a witness. I didn’t want anyone to see me like that,” Kurama paused, looking up at Hiei slowly. “I didn’t think about anyone but myself until you showed up and I had to think about someone else. Then I knew I absolutely couldn’t go through with it, and I didn’t want to let you,” Green eyes met red and held. Hiei broke first, studying the cartoons playing silently on the television. He’d always thought it was a somewhat irritating habit, that Kurama played something on the television, with the sound turned down while he was reading, but now he appreciated the momentary distraction. “Why?” He finally settled on the quiet question, glancing at Kurama but refusing to look directly at him. He could have asked a lot of things, but that was the most simple and it summed up his thoughts more directly. The redhead shrugged, setting his book down, and shifting in his chair to look at Hiei seriously. “Well, for much the same reason you were, I expect. I was feeling a bit lost and out of sorts. Somewhat like the people I cared about would be just fine if I disappeared. They could go on without me without much of a struggle,” He sighed. “Then, as I said, you came along, and I realized what an incredibly stupid notion it was, and I couldn’t let you go through with it as well.” “But you have a place. Here. You have you family.” “Which is all well and fine, but I was missing something in my life, Hiei, and I couldn’t identify what it was,” The fox demon stood, pacing to the couch Hiei was sitting on, and kneeling before the smaller demon with a smile as Hiei watched him. The gaze was less suspicious and far more trusting than it would have been months ago, but there were still some walls Hiei had that Kurama was trying to break down. Kurama placed his hands on Hiei’s legs lightly. “I think, sometimes, we all consider that the world could go on quite easily without us. The trick is not act on that and sometimes that means you find something or someone who reminds you that you’re worthy and needed.” Silence stretched between the two demons, as they watched one another, taking comfort in the other’s presence. Hiei finally sighed, leaning forward to rest his forehead against Kurama’s lightly as he closed his eyes. Despite what he’d considered doing, his weakness, Kurama wanted him. Made him feel strong and needed. Loved. Hiei sighed again, not opening his eyes. “I’m glad you found me, Kurama.” Kurama smiled, moving a hand to lightly tip Hiei’s face up and kiss him. “I’m glad I found you too, Hiei. And, I’m glad you found me.” .................................................................................................................................................................... Alright, there y'all are. Angst, sex, fluff. That's pretty much how all my one shots go, but what can you do? Anyways, here's this one. I haven't written anything in cannon in a long time.
