Scene 13
Happy 4th!! Here's a couple new scenes for you to celebrate with, lol.

Scene 13 ----------- Two Days Later
* Hiei is nibbling on some berries he'd gathered for his lunch. He only half glances up at Minoro when he enters the West Wall cave with his head tilted.
Hiei- They've arrived.
Minoro- Hai. They're setting up.. Looks like a real circus.. Sir, what are you..?
* Hiei stands, wiping his mouth on the back of his unwarded hand.
Hiei- I was eating berries, what does it look like?
Minoro- I mean, why are you staying here and not..?
* Hiei moves to throw his cloak on.
Hiei- I'm the Alpha, I'll live anywhere I d--- well please.
* Minoro gives a shrugging nod and steps aside as Hiei moves past him.
Minoro- Hai, this is true, but.. Is it because of our.. arrangement?
* Hiei pauses to glare up at Minoro over his shoulder. He's not been resting well, hence he's not in the mood for being considerate.
Hiei- Hmph! Don't flatter yourself, Hyena!
* Minoro is left to scratch his head in confusion as Hiei flits his way down through the winding canyon. When he finally steps through the bushy barrier he pauses to watch all the activity of a colony settling in. As he moves through the activity he scans the various demons of all ages. All that find themselves in his way recognize the short, dark apparition and quickly leap out of his way. Hiei finally reaches the center to find the three brothers assembling their simple huts in a wide triangular pattern. When Habataro notices Hiei he hurries over and gives a quick bow.
Habataro- Master.
Hiei- Hn. About time you get here.
Coutaro- It's not easy moving a whole village.
Habataro- Cou.
Hiei- Well, you're here now. When can you have a barrier up?
Kumataro- It will be up within a couple hours.. I'll have my house done by then.
Hiei- Hn. Good enough.
* Hiei turns to motion toward the mouth of the ravine.
Hiei- I want the village spread out completely in front of the mouth of my canyon.. Then place your barrier spread so that it conceals your village from that river..
* Hiei motions toward the river's direction.
Hiei- All the way around to the foot of that ridge over there.
* Hiei swings his hand toward the foot of the Western canyon rim. He then looks back up at Kumataro.
Hiei- Can you do that?
Kumataro- No problem, Sir.
* Hiei nods.
Hiei- I want the river well guarded.. The last attack on my path was a couple D--- Snakes.
* Coutaro shudders.
Coutaro- Eewww, I hate Snakes.
Hiei- Relax. They're dead now.
Habataro- I'll set up shifts of guards to be sure that it's covered around the clock.
Hiei- Hn. One more thing.
* Hiei turns to look out over the village.
Hiei- How many demons reside in this village?
* Habataro shrugs.
Habataro- At present, nearly a hundred.. But several of our females are pregnant.
Coutaro- I love springtime.. Don't you, Master?
* Hiei decides to ignore the jovial cat.
Hiei- If any of them step out of line against me or any member of my pack residing in the canyon I'll deal with them as I see fit.. Regardless of age or gender.. Am I clear, Habataro?
Habataro- Usually my clan is very loyal. But if any of them offend you I will give no protest to your authority.
* Hiei glances up at Habataro a bit surprised, then gives a short nod. When the brothers return to setting up their huts the Koorime finds himself watching Habataro work. He watches him interact with a couple of his young sons, telling them where to put some things inside. When Hab shares an affectionate kiss with one of his maes Hiei looks away. This is when the tall, lanky Lynx notices that he was being observed. Habataro excuses himself from his mate and goes over to Hiei. The Koorime looks up when Hab drops to one knee beside him.
Habataro- Is there something I can.. do for you, Master?
* The Cat's nervousness is unmistakable. Hiei scowls.
Hiei- You're not ready.. I have my own mates to see to.
* Hiei turns away, but Habataro raises a hand to grasp his arm gently. He releases it quickly when Hiei growls.
Habataro- Forgive me.. I just wanted to assure you.. that you have our loyalty.. You're strong enough that you could have destroyed the village.. You could have taken everything from us..
Hiei- Stop annoying me or I just may change my mind, Cat.. I have control of my bloodlust.. That nature was conquered a long time ago.. But I do appreciate loyalty and respect.. Just continue living your lives.
* Habataro watches the short, dark shadow flit away, sighs, and stands back up to glance toward his brothers. Kuma and Coutaro both nod then work resumes.
