Scene 26 -------------- The Main Barrier
* As usual, the three brothers are waiting on Hiei when he arrives. They sniff the breeze blowing into their faces then sneer at each other. Hiei rolls his eyes.
Hiei- Don’t even..
* Hiei looks to his right when Dagon swoops to land with a flourish, then folds his wings away as he kneels to show his respect.
Dagon- M’Lord.
* Dagon raises his nose to sniff toward Hiei.
Dagon- Uhmm.. A fair wind blows from thee.
Hiei- If you don’t shut up and get up I’m going to order you to mate one of these cats, Crow.
* Dagon looks toward the three brothers.
Dagon- Hmmm. Which one?
Hiei- D--- it.. Are you in heat or something?
Dagon- Bird species don’t experience heats like other demons..
Hiei- Crow.
Dagon- I’m just sayin’. We do come in, but mine won’t be for a few..
Hiei- Spare me.. I have more important s--- to worry about.
* Dagon stands and comes over.
Dagon- I see.. You have quite a crowd waiting for you out there.
Hiei- Hn. What do they want from me?
Habataro- Oh, it’s not about what they want from you, now.. It’s what they want to give you.
Hiei- I want nothing.
Dagon- What they’ll want to know is how much tribute you’ll be requiring of them. The alphas will be ready to be marked..
Hiei- What the h---?!
* Dagon bravely places a placating hand on Hiei’s shoulder.
Dagon- This is all quite necessary, Master.
* Hiei spikes his energy enough to make Dagon yank his hand away with a squawk.
Hiei- I’m not going to require anything of them, I said.
* Dagon scowls, shaking his hand to cool it.
Dagon- It won’t be wise to.. refuse their offerings.
Habataro- The bird is right, sir. You defeated Ooshama.
Kumataro- He was your last obstacle in obtaining your goal.
Coutaro- Surely you feel the rush that your new position is giving you inside.
* Hiei closes his eyes a moment to concentrate on the energy he still feels swirling inside him.
Dagon- H---, we all felt that power surge you experienced.
* Hiei sighs deeply when his instincts mesh with their words.
Hiei- Fine.. Dagon, you go through.. Tell them that I’ll meet with them in the morning. They can party or orgy or whatever s--- they want to do to celebrate tonight.. But nobody is to come through that barrier.
* Hiei turns back toward the canyon.
Hiei- I’ve had enough drama for today.
* He looks up when Dagon takes to the air.
Hiei- Crow!
* Dagon looks back down at him.
Hiei- I meant what I said. I’m not going to require anything.. If they want to offer something of their own free will.. I’ll consider the offerings as I receive them.. And I’m not marking nobody else.. Period! Got that?!
* Dagon nods with a grin. Kumataro raises one of his hands to open a space for Dagon to get out then recloses it behind him.
Hiei- You’ll probably have to let him back in.
* Kuma snorts humorously.
Kumataro- I’ll consider it, sir.
* Hiei glances at the Lynx then shakes his head and takes off.
