This chapter was co-written by my wonderful friend Ellyse and her extremely strange and random dreams. I also
disclaim her dream. Yup, gotta disclaim a dream.

And I’ve got nothing to say
I can’t believe I didn’t fall right down on my face
line-break'>
That it’s not the way I had imagined it all in my mind
So what am I
What do I have but negativity
’Cause I can’t justify the way everyone is looking at me
k'>
Nothing to lose
Nothing to gain – hollow and alone
And the fault is my own
And the fault is my own

The endless abyss
of voices were around me again, and they were getting worse. I wrapped
my arms around me and tried to ward them off, but they came through and tore at
me. I blurred between them, trying to find another voice, another sound that
wouldn’t hurt me. I reached out and grabbed one, closing my eyes as it glowed a bright light. My eyes opened again and the vision
came before me.
Here I was, at a house, a nice
house at that, and there were people. People inside the grand
house partying and enjoying the time with their loved ones. I swam out
of the crystal blue pool and hopped onto the dry concrete, with my hair wet and
dripping downwards, touching my bronze shoulders. I looked back at the ningens,
shivering as I watched them splash the water at their friends. I wiped my brow
and touched the area where my Jagan should have been, but it was not there. My
frail ningen form walked inside the beautiful house and I dried my small body
with a towel, with my swimming trunks merging into a t-shirt and jean shorts.
The people around me laughed and hugged; toasted to their champagne glasses, enjoyed
the feeling of being together, but little did they know that this was the last
time they would be together. They would all die.
So they did. The house that was
once beautiful was set aflame. The wallpaper withered and the wood turned
black. The paintings melted and ran down the fireplace. But worse of all, the
bright fire began to creep around the innocent people, began to lick their
clothes and bite their skin. All I could do was watch and they panicked and ran
for their life’s safety. But they got none, for more people jumped out at them
with guns ready in their filthy hands. They shot at the people, and they went
down with blood all over their bodies. More shots were fired, killing the men,
women and even the young children in their hands. The people fell and the
others stepped on their heads, making their brains and fluids spurt out, giving
the wounded a sweet and painless death. So sudden, it would seem, it felt like they were never really alive at all.
My ningen self was immobile,
frozen, while my eyes observed the bloody scene before me. It was then when I
realized it; that my hands were blazing with my black fire. I stared at them,
unable to believe that I set the grand house on fire, scaring these people and
having them killed by the others. It was my fault. It was my fault. I am the
Forbidden Child. It is always my fault.
I ran. I fled away from the screams
entering my mind and stealing my sanity. I was not alone, though. The murderers
followed my path, shooting the black bullets at my back, where I barely managed
to dodge. I blew away the gray snow blanketing my face, but it wasn’t snow. It
was the ashes from those who died in my hands. My ningen form was weakening
fast, so I turned sharply and collapsed into a clearing, where the ashy snow
softened my fall. I caught my breath and sighed in relief to know I was safe.
But the killers came to me again.
They jumped into my clearing, smirking with death gleaming in their eyes. Their
guns pointed at my frail self, ready to fire and spread my blood. The dying
people’s screams of their pain surrounded the background, and I could not
escape.
“Now it’s your turn,” the voices
said to me. I screamed at my weakness and covered my ears, waiting for the blow
to my death. I never felt the gash to my heart, so I must have already been
dead. But suddenly, a new warmth came to me, protecting
my body and saving myself. It was none other than my dear fox, my beloved fox, hereo:p>
Someone told me
Love would all save us
But how can that be?
Look what love gave us
A world full of killing
And blood spilling
That world never came

“Hey, shrimp!”
I winced at the sound of the baka’s voice echoing the tiny park. Kuwabara ran up to me
and slapped my back, a sign that meant he was happy. A sign
that he had been with Yukina again.
“What’s with you?” he asked me,
raising his eyebrows. “You don’t sulk in public.”
I turned my attention away far
enough so his face wasn’t in view. “I want to be alone.”

“There’s the Hiei I know!” He
slapped my back again, making my eye twitch continually. Refrain from executing a painful death upon the human…. “Yukina-san’s supposed to be here in a bit, so I’ll wait here.”
Saying so, he sat down on the bench and stared at nothing.
The time of silence between us
seemed to drone on for weeks. He fiddled his thumbs together, mumbling
something about his ‘well-groomed’ hair. I couldn’t take it….
“Why do you love Yukina?”
It took a few seconds for him to
realize I was talking to him. “Huh? Yukina? What about
her?”
I stared at the ground, avoiding
his gaze. “Why do you love my sister?”
“Uh….well, she’s nice arettretty
and all, and she’s willing to heal my injuries….but I
can’t really describe why.”
My eyes turned to his. “Really. Why the hell not?”

And yes, I do respect Kuwabara to some limit.
