Hot Mazoku Action
By Sefiru
Pairings: Yusuke/Hiei/Kurama in various combinations
Warnings: R, becoming NC-17 later (I’ll say when). YAOI, anal, oral, D/s, threesome.
Disclaimer: I don’t own YuYu Hakusho, it owns me.
Katonie: yeah, “pairing” isn’t quite the right term here, is it?
shade shadow & kallipso: so eager … unfortunately, begging will not make me update faster, because I am evil.
kit-kit: I’ve had people say before that I have good flow. Which is strange because I’m not really trying to.
lijana: I used the anime dialogue solely so I could read too much into it.
Aots-kun: draw away! And you know, Yusuke’s sexy boy ass *is* fascinating. ^^
Anon: I don’t write in terms of strict seme and uke, so … you’ll have to wait and see.
In this chapter: demons in lust, and we wave goodbye to Keiko.

Chapter 3: Parting of Ways
***
The two demons stood together in the woods outside the Makai Tournament stadium. “He’s really going back,” Hiei said. ~Yeah, right.~
“After he takes care of a few things, he says.” ~Putting his territory in order. He’ll be back.~ Kurama smiled. The tournament had gone perfectly from his point of view; while none of their team had taken the prize, the new ruler was friendly to them, and they’d kept Mukuro and Yomi off the podium this time around. All would be well until the next Makai Tournament. “It will be up to Keiko how long he takes to return. It may be sooner rather than later.”
“What do you know that I don’t, Fox?”
“It’s just a gut feeling.”
“Hn. Here.” Hiei tossed him a small object – his mother’s hiruseki stone.
“I can’t accept this, Hiei. I don’t feel that way about you.”
“The hell you don’t. When did you turn into such a rotten liar? Anyway, it’s not for you.”
“You want me to give this to Yukina, right?” Kurama shook his head and tossed it back. “You’re her brother; you’ll give this to her in your own time.”
Hiei snorted again. “You’re the same as when I first met you – a pain who speaks the truth. Keep an eye on those two for me.”

Hiei scowled at the landscape from his perch on the giant insect’s back. He suspected that his being drafted into the border patrol had something to do with Mukuro. The patrols operated out of Alaric, so it made sense for the patrollers to live there; Mukuro got plenty of opportunities to put the moves on him. She was constantly inviting him to her chambers, plying him with rich food, and generally trying to seduce him in her usual heavy-handed way. It wasn’t working. Hiei far preferred to spend his time out here, in the open forest, far from her and her gloom-ridden castle.
Mukuro’s soldiers had noticed the change in her; though she was still strong enough to hold her domain together, they could tell she had lost over half of her previous power. That was Hiei’s doing. He’d taken away the hate that fueled her youki and left her to find another emotion to drive her – he couldn’t help her with that part. After all, a shadow couldn’t find herself if she was surrounded by shadows; a shadow needed light to truly live …
Hn. Very poetic. I’ve obviously been spending too much time in Ningen brains. He nudged the hanayoukai sitting next to him. “Smell anything?”
“No, sir,” it replied nasally. Who knew what it would sound like if it ever caught a cold.
“Then let’s go.” He tapped the giant caterpillar on one of its feeler spots; it turned ponderously towards Alaric. Freaking slowpoke. But he’d put up with it as a good excuse to spend more time in the field.
He managed to get a day off every couple of months and went to Tourin, but the distance meant he could only stay there a half day at a time. The short visits with Yusuke just served to whet his appetite. Damn, but their Toushin was shaping up into one fine piece of Demon Lord; he’d put on a couple of inches in height and a few more across the shoulders, and he’d lost that slacker attitude of his. He had a job now, an important one and one that suited him to the core, and it showed. Hiei often wondered if Yusuke knew what effect one glance of his eyes had on other demons; he was surprised that there wasn’t a mountain of suitors throwing themselves at the Toushin’s feet. Maybe they were just too scared to get a good look.
Hiei leapt off the caterpillar’s back into Alaric’s courtyard. However he disliked it, this was home for now; he hadn’t mentioned his intentions to Yusuke, since the Toushin’s mind was obviously still on Keiko. But human lives were short, and he could afford to wait.

“Minamino, has your nose seen the outside of that book today?”
Kurama glanced up at Kaitoh, and then back at the page; he realized to his chagrin that he hadn’t turned the page in twenty minutes. Something must have showed on his face, because his classmate sighed and sat down across from him. “I refuse to believe that you need to study this hard in any subject, and especially not classical Japanese.”
True enough, considering he’d been around to read The Tale of Genji when it first came out. But Kaitoh wasn’t going away until he said something, and they still had another half hour of study hall. He closed the book. “I haven’t had much else to occupy my mind recently.”
“Oh? You haven’t spent time with your teammates?”
That, of course, was the core of the problem. “Hiei is busy at his job, and Yusuke is out of the country. He discovered the identity of his father when he inherited the man’s business; now he’s learning how to run it.” That was the cover story they’d agreed on.
“I see. In that case I can assume that you haven’t had the opportunity to take either of them out on a date.”
“Kaitoh-kun, I don’t know what you mean – ”
“Please, Minamino. I’ve watched girls mooning over you for years, and it doesn’t take a psychology major to recognize the similarities.”
Kurama blushed. He’d only managed to cross the border to Tourin once in the last year and spent a glorious weekend in his lord’s company. They’d sparred against each other for the first time, and he thought he’d impressed Yusuke with his skills. It was hard, with his Youko instincts, to restrain himself from pouncing on Yusuke and having his way with him; but that would be unwise. If he desired to stand at the Toushin’s side, let alone lie in his bed, he had to respect Yusuke’s feelings for Keiko. Anything else would harm his cause far more than help it. “He’s attracted to someone else.”
And then there was the matter of Hiei. The fire demon had many more chances to display his power to Yusuke, and he was much less shy about doing so. Kurama wondered if he should have revealed that he was the one who defeated Yomi in the tournament finals. His habit of under-presenting himself had stopped him from saying anything, and now he felt like he’d made a mistake.
Kaitoh pushed his glasses up on his nose. “That seems a rather limited perspective, for someone of your background.”
“Thank you, Kaitoh-kun, I will keep that in mind.”

The human world hadn’t changed in the last two years, Yusuke reflected. He was sitting on a fence rail in Genkai’s yard with Keiko next to him; their reunion had been great, and they’d spent an hour splashing around in the lake before ending up here. Just seeing her again made his spirit feel lighter. But …
“Hey, Keiko. Why do I get the feeling that I’m about to get the ‘like a brother and sister’ speech?”
She giggled nervously. “Well, the thing is, I’ve grown up a lot in the last couple of years, and, it’s like … I think I’m a lesbian.”
“Um.” That was about the last thing he’d expected to hear. “So does that mean you’ve found a girlfriend?”
“Not yet, but what I’m trying to say is that I don’t have the kind of feelings for you that a wife should have for her husband.”
He figured that meant that she didn’t want to have sex with him. “Yeah, that kind of puts a cramp in the whole marriage thing.” He wasn’t feeling all that disappointed, and that surprised him. It wasn’t like he never got horny at his age, but if he didn’t think of Keiko that way … “Huh. I guess I’m ok with it. Does that make me gay?”
“Maybe.” She giggled again, this time with real humor. “I thought for sure you’d freak out when I told you.”
“Yeah, well, I got to see way weirder things back ho – back in Tourin. A girl who likes girls? No biggie.” They sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes. Marrying Keiko was Yusuke’s childhood dream, but she was right, it wasn’t happening between them. He didn’t feel broken-hearted over it, and that was a clue right there.
“You almost said back home, before,” Keiko said.
“I guess I did.” Yusuke put his hands behind his head while he thought about it. “I like it there. I even like the work part.”
She smiled. “You know, being a demon really suits you. You’re going to go back, then?”
“Yeah, after I stock up on pizza. We can still be friends, right?”
“Best friends.”

Sappho ex machina, the slash writer’s friend. ^^
In the second last episode, Kurama says that Yomi was beaten by “an inconsequential opponent he had no business losing to.” Does anyone else get the feeling he was referring to himself?
In the next chapter: Yusuke talks to his dad, and Mukuro makes her move.
