Hiei's Harem - Pt. 4 - Recovering

Scene 3 --------------- The Next Day/Alaric


* Mukuro continues staring out the large windows of her moving fortress' control room. But her thoughts are not on the passing scenery flowing past them at a sluggish rate. She is so preoccupied that she doesn't even take notice when General Kirin leads Yusuke in. Nor does she turn when he speaks.


Kirin- Lord Urameshi is here, M'Lord.

Mukuro- I'm not seeing anyone.

Yusuke- You can if you turn around.


* Finally Mukuro shows life as she turns to slowly look at Yusuke. Her visible eye quickly takes in the scroungy appearance of this young fellow Territorial ruler.


Mukuro- What are you doing here?! And how dare you come into my presence looking like.. that?!


* Yusuke glances down at his dusty casual attire.


Mukuro- Honestly, your Father must be rolling in his grave to think that he left his Territory to such a disgrace.

Yusuke- Pardon me.. I just ran half a day and three hours to get here.

Mukuro- If you've come to tell me that you've taken him as your new Second, you could have sent a memo.


* Yusuke tilts his head.


Yusuke- Excuse me?


* Mukuro turns away again.


Mukuro- Not that I really care.. I ran this Territory alone for hundreds of years before you were even thought of.


* Yusuke can feel the rage that's seething inside her radiating from her aura. He looks up at the taller General beside him.


Yusuke- Did I come at a bad time of the month or..?

Mukuro- Get out! If you set foot in my Territory again I will declare war on your a--!

Yusuke- Look, I just came here looking for Hiei.. If you and him had some kind of tiff, I probably know why.


* Mukuro half looks at him over her shoulder again.


Mukuro- What the h--- are you talking about?!- Are you trying to tell me that you have no idea that that little ingrateful b------- has removed himself from my service?


* Yusuke's expression gives her the answer. She turns fully to face him, curiousity getting the better of her.


Mukuro- Tell me what you do know, Toushin Urameshi.

Yusuke- Well, it turned out that his sister Yukina.. err..

Mukuro- Go on. I know of that situation.

Yusuke- well, it turns out that she's.. known who he was for a while now..

Mukuro- Figures.

Yusuke- Well, Hiei found out that her human suitor..

Mukuro- The one he calls 'Oaf'?

Yusuke- Among other things.. Kuwabara was going to ask Yukina to marry him.

Mukuro- Demon females shouldn't mate with human males. It is always the other way around. As you, yourself, are an unsavory testament.


* Yusuke scowls a moment, then decides to ignore the barb in order to get his explanation finished.


Yusuke- Yeah, well, thanks to Hiei Kuwabara found that out. Anyway, long story short..

Mukuro- Please.

Yusuke- Yukina thought Hiei was trying to ruin her happiness. So she struck Hiei, informed him that she'd known who he was for a while, then told him that she disowned him..

Mukuro- Is the little wench still alive?

Yusuke- Yeah. She ordered him to leave so he left and..

Mukuro- And shows up here seething, renounces his position, tells me to go to h--- so Demon World will be a better place, then blurs away.


* Yusuke blinks up at her a moment, then mutters a curse under his breath as he rubs the bridge of his forehead. He then looks back up at the cybernetic woman.


Yusuke- So he's out there somewhere in his current state of mind..? D---, we need to find him.. Yukina made me explain the real reason he's been avoiding her.. Now she wants him to come back so she can apologize.


* Mukuro sighs and turns back to the window.


Mukuro- I wouldn't have the slightest clue where he'd be now.. Last I heard he spent the night in some crappy village and made me foot the bill.. I doubt he's anywhere close to there now.. Maybe that godling-wanna-be you both used to work for could locate him.

Yusuke- Looks like I'll have to go ask him.

Mukuro- Knock yourself out.


* Yusuke shakes his head and turns to leave.


Mukuro- Urameshi,..


* He half turns back toward her.


Mukuro- I haven't stricken his name from my records.. yet.

Yusuke- You were right in not doing that just yet.. Thank you.


* With that Yusuke follows Kirin out of the control room. The General glances down at Yusuke as he escorts him back to the main side door.


Kirin- Their split was not a peaceful one.. She just gave you the watered down version.. The Koorime's rejection hurt her deeply.

Yusuke- He was upset.. You guys have had him around here for over a year, but none of you still have any clue about him.. You have no idea how he reacts to emotional stuff like this.

Kirin- I could say the same to you about my Lord Mukuro.


* Yusuke pauses at the door to glance up at the General, then nods, and leaves when Kirin opens the door enough for him.
