Deep in an underground Volcano, there was a series of chambers carved directly into the thick volcanic rock. Only a few feet of rock separated the people within from the lava flows. Due to that and the lack of ventilation being so far underground, it was incredibly hot. Water evaporated within only a moment or two of being spilled and even the hardiest of demons found it difficult to stay in the chambers for long.
In the maze of chambers and tunnels, there was one section where the chambers were smaller and the doors removed. In the place of doors hardened metal bars had been driven straight into the rocks. It was a miserable area that smelled of dried blood and sickness and death. If there was the sound of liquid hitting the stone floors it was more than likely sweat or blood than any sort of potable water source. Few of the cells had anyone inside of them. But one at the very end did. It was one of the smaller cells and didn’t even have the attempt at a cot that some of the others had. There was only one thing in the cell at all; the prisoner. He was hanging a few inches off the floor by manacles driven into the wall. His clothes had been all but shredded off of his body and the bit of his pants he still wore were stained red with blood. Cuts littered his bare chest and bruises discolored what was once flawless pale skin. His perfectly maintained hair was dirty and unkempt. The prisoner’s ki was dangerously low. A thread of a noise escaped a pair of cracked and parched lips. Sweat trickled down the side of his face and down his neck. The trail continued down his bare chest before it reached an open cut and stung in the wound. A fine boned chin was pulled up and pale blue eyes cracked open though they were hazy and distant. “Can’t take the heat, ice bitch?” a deep voice asked. Touya attempted to swallow to rewet his bone-dry mouth but it only hurt. He was so thirsty. He’d never been so thirsty in his life. It was utterly sweltering in his cell, so much so that the metal manacles keeping him hanging on the wall had burned his skin. “… bastard,” he managed to rasp out. There was a flash of angry red eyes before Touya’s head snapped to the side under a hard right hook. Touya tasted blood but didn’t spit it out. He needed to keep as many fluids inside of himself as possible right now. He was already dehydrated he didn’t know how much longer he could go before his body just gave out on him. “You know,” a casual voice from outside the cell began, “I heard Ice Demons turn into real whores in bed if you get them heated up right…” Touya glared as best he could when he couldn’t focus his eyes properly. “… kill… you,” he hissed. A long tongue licked the side of Touya’s neck and he fought against the cringe though he didn’t manage to suppress it completely. He’d always hated things like that. “You’re lucky I don’t like ‘em half dead,” the demon in front of him said before stepping back and letting Touya’s head fall. Touya was actually rather glad to hear that. He could deal with torture. He was a shinobi and a demon. Torture was practically a pass time. It was casual and easy to dismiss. He would hardly even think about this incident again if he survived it. Especially once he healed and the scars faded. But being raped… he didn’t know how to deal with that. To have his body taken without his will… For his pleasure to utterly not matter… He couldn’t help but think he wouldn’t have handled it well. And he didn’t know how he would have looked Jin in the face if something like that had happened. Touya heard distant muttering of his captors but ignored them in favor of more pleasant thoughts. He knew that Jin would be coming for him. The Wind Master hadn’t been happy with this mission in the first place and when Touya failed to return on time Touya had no doubt his lover would be out looking for him. The Ice Master just had to last long enough for Jin to find him. Luckily, Touya was determined to do so. Most of the remaining energy Touya had went to keeping his body going and healing as much as possible. The less blood he lost the better. The only thing going for him was that his captors didn’t seem to want him to die yet either. They’d been quite clear when they said that Touya would be made to beg for death before they’d kill him. Touya resisted the urge to snort. Like that would ever happen. He didn’t know what he’d done to piss these demons off so much. He didn’t even recognize them. But they certainly seemed to know him. Know and utterly despise him. Perhaps Touya had killed someone close to them? It was hardly impossible. Touya had killed many under contract. He was a master shinobi after all. Still, he couldn’t fathom why the anger was being directed at him if that were the case. Surely they would blame whoever it was that hired him? It wasn’t as if Touya’s shinobi missions were anything personal. Touya shook his head slightly and pulled his thoughts away from the issue. It wasn’t as if it really mattered. All that mattered was that he knew his lover would be coming for him and he had to survive long enough for Jin to find him. He knew that his redheaded lover was terribly resourceful when he needed to be. Touya rested his head back against the rock wall he was hanging against. He would be lucky if Jin let him leave the bed without an armed escort after this. His lover was always incredibly worried and well, this would not help matters to be blunt. A small smile attempted to pull at Touya’s parched lips. Perhaps it wouldn’t be so bad to be stuck for however long in bed with Jin. He could certainly use the redhead’s incurably optimistic outlook on life right about now. Not to mention his gentle hands and strong embrace. He knew Jin would baby him a bit more than he would like once this was over but he’d allow it for a while. Especially with how weak and pained he was currently. He could use someone to lovingly wait on him hand and foot. Touya was brought out of his thoughts when he heard footsteps coming closer. He forced his eyes open as much as he could and almost sighed when he saw the flash of a knife in his captor’s hands. They were going to try and break him again it seemed. Touya forced his mind to go completely blank as the blade came slashing towards his chest. Far away in a much cooler area and under the night sky, a redheaded Wind Master paced restlessly across the roof of Yusuke’s castle before turning and pacing the other direction. “It would be best if you tell me all you could of Touya’s mission,” the other redhead on the roof said calmly. Jin regarded the fox for a moment but couldn’t make himself stop pacing. “Nah much ta tell,” Jin said. “Sappoused ta be a simple mission. Kill some gang leada or some’at like tha’ tha’ was hindin’ ou’ up there. Touya shoulda ben able ta kill ‘im wit out a problem… prob’bly dinna even hafta git close ta ‘im.” Kurama nodded a little and glanced off into the distance for a moment. “Did the mission get finished?” he asked thoughtfully. “Yea’,” Jin grumbled. “’as why tha council ain’t worried…” “It sounds most likely that he was captured by this gang leader’s men when he tried to leave. Touya’s far too skilled and experienced to get waylaid by common thugs on the roads,” Kurama mused aloud. “We’ll have to find out where the gang leader was hiding. Did the council have any information about that?” Jin frowned darkly and shook his head. “Course not… that’d make this too easy,” Yuskue mumbled from where he was sitting on a slightly higher part of the roof. “Well, at least we have some idea of what to do once we get up there. When’s Hiei supposed to get here?” he asked, turning to look at Kurama expectantly. “Any moment. Once he gets here we’ll leave. You know how impatient he gets,” Kurama supplied. Jin didn’t bother to comment. It wasn’t as if he would have wanted to wait too much longer anyway. He had no idea what Kurama had said or done to get Hiei to agree to help them but he was grateful. While Jin would have gone to Yukina for help if he had to he couldn’t help but be glad that someone as strong as Hiei would be the one helping them. He wouldn’t have to worry about protecting someone on top of everything else. All that mattered to him right now was Touya and getting him back safe and sound. He didn’t have the time to worry about anyone else. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
