Scene 31 ------------------------------------------- Hiei's Apartment
* When Koenma, Yusuke, and Kurama enter Ryuji looks up from the couch. He does a double take, then stands quickly to bow before Yusuke and Kurama.
Ryuji- Lord Yusuke, Lord Kurama.
Yusuke- You must be Ryuji.
Ryuji- Hai, M'Lord..
Koenma- Ryuji, has Hiei come back here?
* Ryuji raises up to look at Koenma.
Ryuji- He left a while ago to go check up on..
Yusuke- Shishiwakamaru passed on a few moments ago.
* Ryuji scowls at Yusuke.
Ryuji- Oh no.. not now.. Where's Hiei?
* Yusuke and Kurama look at Koenma.
Yusuke- Well, he's obviously not here.
Kurama- I thought I detected his presence when we first arrived, but then it.. disappeared..
Koenma- D--- it.. He must have used a PRB..
Ryuji- Sirs?
* Koenma looks at the fire demon who nearly matches his own hieght.
Koenma- Hiei was with Shishi when he passed.. When I arrived he just.. took off.
Ryuji- If he went back to Demon World I can find him.. Will you permit me to go, sir?
Yusuke- I'll go with you.
* Ryuji looks back at the Toushin Lord.
Ryuji- With all due respect, Lord Urameshi, I'd rather deal with my brother alone.. Besides that, someone needs to watch his boys.. I hear that they know you as their sire..
Yusuke- The twins are mine.
Koenma- Fine, Ryuji.. But make sure you return with him.. I might have some more questions I'll need answered.
Ryuji- Do you have a communicator I can take to keep in touch?
* Ryuji looks toward the hallway as Koenma checks his pockets.
Ryuji- Pehjo!
* Yusuke glances toward Kurama who shrugs. The skink demon comes into the livingroom grumbling about being disturbed until he sees the newcomers. Koenma hands Ryuji another wristband.
Koenma- This one has a communicator built in.
Pehjo- What gives?
Ryuji- I'll explain on the way. Come on.
* Ryuji and Pehjo follow Koenma out. Yusuke and Kurama look at each other again.
Yusuke- Has Hiei's luck always been this terrible?
Kurama- Koenma said something else was bothering him.. If it was something concerning Yukina.. Besides that, with him in his heat it heightens a demon's emotions, you know.
* A new thought hits Yusuke's mind and he slams one of his fists into a hand with a growl.
Yusuke- D--- it! This means that we only have a year at the most to get Shorty to be our mate..!
* Yusuke watches Kurama just turn away and go into the kitchen. Getting a strange vibe through their bond, Yusuke follows curiously.
Yusuke- What?
* Kurama remains silent as he opens the refrigerator to check for something to satisfy his sudden hunger.
Yusuke- 'Rama?
* The kitsune scowls and takes out a large bottle of whiskey to show Yusuke.
Kurama- Hiei's been.. drinking..
* From his angle, Yusuke can see that the refrigerator is stocked full of various cans and bottles of alcoholic beverages. No doubt pilfered from both Demon and Human Worlds as the stuff can't be found in Spirit World. Yusuke goes over and grabs the whiskey bottle from Kurama.
Yusuke- Not anymore he isn't!
* Yusuke moves to dump the whiskey out into the sink.
Kurama- (Quietly) You're not his alpha yet, Yusuke.
* Yusuke pauses then turns to look at Kurama.
Yusuke- And you don't want me to be..
* Kurama closes the refrigerator.
Kurama- You just.. You have no idea..
Yusuke- I will if you explain it to me.
* Yusuke sets the emptied bottle aside and follows his kitsune back out into the livingroom. Kurama sits on the couch, thinks a moment, then looks up at Yusuke.
Kurama- We have time, so I guess we can talk.. Come sit down beside me, Love.. I'll explain just how complicated this situation has become. (1)
* Yusuke goes over to sit beside his mate.
