Scene 32 ----------------- Mukuro’s Office
* The half mechanical demoness is busy working on her mechanical arm when a knock sounds on her door. She scowls when she can’t sense who it is.
Mukuro- Enter, d--- it!
* As Kirin and Sugetshi enter Mukuro pushes her sleeve down to cover her malfunctioning appendage quickly.
Mukuro- What do you want, Kirin? And be quick about it, it’s not been a good day for me.
Kirin- Nothing has been good for you since he..
Mukuro- Mind your tongue, General! You know I hold no grudge against that little three-eyed b------!
Kirin- Perhaps you would be interested in knowing where.. Lord Hiei is, M’Lord.
* Mukuro quits glaring at her lifeless arm to look up at the two soldiers again.
Kirin- This is Private Sugetshi.. He has a talent for morphing into different appearances which makes him an excellent spy..
Mukuro- Are you going to tell me today?
Kirin- For several weeks I’d been receiving rumors that a rogue demon had been causing quite a stir in the Barren Lands..
Mukuro- Get to your point! The Barren Lands?! Nothing good ever comes out of that kami-forsaken place!
Kirin- This.. rogue.. is none other than our wayward Lord Hiei, M’Lord.
* Mukuro’s face, the half that can be seen, remains blank until she slowly processes the General’s words. She turns her intense gaze on the spy.
Mukuro- Speak, underling.
Sugetshi- Lord Hiei has become the Ultimate Alpha of the Barren Lands.
Mukuro- So why should I care? Is he planning war on me?
Sugetshi- He claims not to have any hostilities toward you, nor Lord Urameshi.. He made no mention of Lord Yomi.
* Mukuro ‘hmphs’ and looks back down at her unmoving arm.
Sugetshi- Of course he doesn’t claim any allegiances to any of you, either.
* Mukuro scowls when her arm still refuses to move.
Mukuro- That’s supposed to surprise me, Private?
* Kirin and Sugetshi look at each other when their leader curses vehemently then picks up a small hammer laying on the desk. She glances toward the two.
Mukuro- Well?!
Kirin- Should we plan to meet with him?
* Mukuro growls and raps her arm several times with the hammer. She then looks back up at her visitors.
Mukuro- No.
Kirin- Is there a.. problem..?
Mukuro- No. Just routine..
* She hits the unresponding arm a couple more times.
Mukuro- Maintainance.. Is that all you have to report, Private?
Sugetshi- Hai, M’Lord.
Mukuro- Then leave.. I need to continue my.. inspection.
* Kirin and Sugetshi bow and leave. When the door clangs shut Mukuro looks toward her large bay window thoughtfully. For the first time in a long time, a soft smile touches her lips.
Mukuro- I think I’m starting to understand now.. Your honor wouldn’t allow you to leave them.. You had to protect them and you got carried away as usual.
* She then sighs.
Mukuro- D---, I should’ve known better than to send you there during the springtime!
* She glares back down at her arm.
Mukuro- But why the h--- did you have to pick now..?!
* She hits her arm with the hammer again.
Mukuro- To grow a pair of balls!?
* When the arm still doesn’t respond she sighs again and leans back in the chair, ‘I guess I should’ve warned him that my tank.. healed everything about him.’ After a couple moments she lays the hammer aside, pulls her sleeve back up, and takes up a screwdriver to continue trying to fix her ‘dead’ arm.
