Thoughts and musings

The
following day greet them all with disturbing news from a suddenly appearing
deity on a slightly damaged oar.
She told Kazuma and the others that the barrier
between the realms has been completely closed for several days and that she
could only take three people with her back to the Reikei, and that the others
had to stay for some time in the Makai. The Reikei forces worked currently on
the barrier to make it stronger in holding yokai out of the other realms but
that would take some time. Meanwhile of the reparatory time it needed to do so,
the reminding parts of their team where forced to stay here without any help.

Kazuma told her to take Takoto and his friends
with her; he had enough of their company for a while and was secretly glad to
have some time alone with Byakko to solve some things out!
However, he was haunted from the silent thought
that something dangerous was behind this sudden * reparatory * of the barrier.
He could not shake the warning feeling of that
it would be better for Hagiri, Byakko and him to change their currently
position for awhile!

Right after the others had gone with the deity,
Kazuma told the reminding two of his team his suspicions about the sudden events
and asked them if they had a clue why her oar was that damaged.
Both had no explanation of that.

Surprisingly, Jin had one for the oar.
�I think the things in Reikei slowly turns out
in a full out war between the older and the younger avatar.� The apparition
told them with a musing voice.

That made even sense to Kazuma who knew about
the secretly raging war between the two and in Kazumas opinion it explained
also why the Reikei closed the barrier even knowing they had not enough power
to do so for long.

Wasn�t it Koenma himself who once told Kazuma
once, the Reikei could not do that? The young fighter asked himself where the
Reikei suddenly got the power for closing the entire barrier.
It was clear to him and the others that there
was something wrong with the information�s and suddenly, Kazuma got the feeling
that he needed to find out more about this all!

Byakko watched his partner try to sort out the
news.
He knew that the deity had told them all lies.
He could smell her lying! Even the ghost could not hide it, he knew that Kazuma
could smell it too but was to distracted at the moment to discover what made
him seemingly so untrusting and nervous about her words.

Hagiri on the other hand, Byakko mused, had a
too good instinct!
The former killer of the lunatic Sensui
believed her not a single word. The tiger could feel and see it, the human
fighter was more then curios about this all.

When Kazuma finally asked him if he knew a way
to test her words, Byakko grinned at his partner and told him to ask Hiei who
lived at Mukuros momentary about this.
Byakko knew that the hi-yokai would probably
know the true. Besides that, the demon would provide a save place for his
partner and the human of their group if his own suspicious where right about
the Reikei.

One hour later, the entire group of humans and
yokai was on their way to Mukuros stronghold to ask the fire demon some
questions.
Jin and Touya had come along, both where more
then curios too and it was saver for them all to travel in a bigger group to her
place.
The surrounding land of her territory was too
dangerous to travel through without enough protection!

Kazuma was deeply musing about his warning
feelings about this all.
It was not the first time that he had this
warning feeling but he was not sure what had caused it.
Shrugging his broad shoulders, the former
member of Urameshi�s group gave it up for now and concentrated on the current
walk through the thick forest surrounding Mukuros territories.
Beside him, he could feel Byakko�s presence
that soothed him somehow.

He was not sure about the why, he said it out
aloud, that the two where partners but somehow it had felt right and he was
glad that it was now out in the open.
The tiger beside the youth gave Kazuma a
feeling of protection and he felt save when the yokai was around him. Somehow,
Kazuma doubted it that he would like it to separated from the demon, even only
for some hours. It disturbed him really to even think of that possibility.

However, what was it that drove him to the
inhuman being that was this strong?
His lately dreams and feelings did not help
Kazuma with this problem the slightest! They made it even more complicated as
before, if that was possible.
Kazuma never had something against male/ male
relationships; he had himself only ever considered entirely into woman, which
was all.
Now, the young human was not so sure about this
all anymore.

Since when had it all begun to change, anyway?
Kazuma knew that he had begun to want the demon
in another way as just a friend. But when had he began to think of this and
where?
And more so, why?

Kazuma shoot a sideway glance at Byakko�s tall
and inhuman figure at his right side; the yokai did not even look as a human!
His long fangs and his pale fur made it
impossible to take the yokai for a ningen in any meaning. Ok, he had a humanoid
form and in the moment his frame was nearly Kazumas own height but his catlike
features made it very clear that Byakko was a yokai, an apparition of a cat
demon, a tiger in human shape.

He was nothing near to be a ningen!
As far Kazuma knew it about Byakko�s race, the
tigers, this feline�s where known to haunt entirely alone and lived mostly
without a mate or partner.
Nature simply lead them to a single live, only
between the mating times this race of the feline family took a partner and
after that finished, they run off alone again.

He knew, yokai where a little different from
this but the ground meaning was the same as their behaviors was it too.
Byakko had asked him to be his partner, that
included that the yokai wanted him as his haunting partner too, Kazuma knew
what the term * partner * in the Makai meant.
Kurama had explained it to him once and so he
understood fully what Byakko had asked from him, that night.

He grew inwardly more and more addicted to the
thought to have this proud and at the same time, so playfully being as his
partner.
But to have him as a lover too�?

Kazuma was not sure if he could befriend his
inner self with this thought. After all, this meant sex encounter between them
and the human was somehow curios and frightened at the same time about this
all, because he never before had some sex live in any meaning!

Sure, Kazuma knew what was going on between two
people when they did�* this *!
However, that meant he knew it in the theory!
Not that he ever did it!
He was on a death end with this and Kazuma knew
it.
Somehow, he had ever thought his first time
would be with a woman and not with a man or a male yokai in this current line
of thoughts!

He simple did not know what he should think of
this all, more so, do.
Kazuma was certain that he had a crush on the
yokai but why he did not know.
His entire thoughts seemed lately to have
focused only around the dangerous demon and not on Yukina any longer.

Yukina�

Somehow, the ice maiden was the last thing in
Kazumas mind since the yokai had entered again his live.
Slightly blushing, Kazuma tried to distract
himself from his frantic mind with the surrounding area and the walk to the
stronghold of the third Makai ruler.

The blush went not missed by Byakko.
The tiger was inwardly pleased with the
progressing of Kazumas and his partnership. Even slow as the humans mind was
accepting it, the demon knew in time the ningen would have warmed up with the
thought to be his partner in the full meaning of the word.
He was fully aware of the young humans dreams,
after all he was nearly every night beside the ningen and often Byakko heard
his ningen mumbling his name in his sleep.

Frustrated a little, the yokai tried his
hardest not to push the ningen he wanted so badly to bed too much!
He knew that would do nothing good and Byakko
wanted not to scare Kazuma away from him entirely. The ningens of their group
had nearly done that the former night!
He was more then glad that Kazuma had taken
their stupid ramblings this way and not the other way around!

To distract his sudden thoughts of having his
partner moaning under his body, which had plopped in his mind, he thought about
Hagiri Kaname for a while.

The former killer was a pleasant surprise.
He seemed not only to have nothing against
yokai�s; the human had also nothing against their way of thinking over
sexuality.
He would only called Hagiri, from Kazuma and
himself. The human fighter denied it to the others to call him by his first
name.
They only knew him by his nickname, sniper.

This human was as deadly as he was calm; Hagiri
never let something important or not important pass his awareness. For the
tiger demon, this human was a strong opponent and a likeable ally.
He helped him and his partner only if needed
and he hold them their backs free when they fought with their enemies.
It made him more likeable to Byakko that sniper
seems not to like the others, as much he disliked them.

The ningen was silent, collected, and precise
in his tasks; he needed rarely more as one shot to kill his targets!
That sniper had yelled at the others last night
was a clear sigh to the tiger that the human was near to his end of his calm
and tolerance about their behaviors against Byakko and Kazuma.
Shaking his head at the thought, the tiger went
on walking and decided to give the strange ningen a chance to prove him that he
could consider as an ally from Byakko.

Meanwhile Byakko was thinking about sniper,
someone other in the group of travelers mirrored his thoughts about the ningen,
called sniper.
Jin and Touya where partners for a longer time
span now.
Both yokai liked the other greatly but they had
against the common meaning, never considered sticking together forever.

Touya knew of Jin�s secret relationship with
Ruka, one of their former teammates from their Shinobi sect.
He also knew that eventually the two lovebirds
would want to bond.
He and Jin would stay partners, they where too
good in working together but most likely, they would stay as teammates and not
as a partner pair any longer after this.
He did not mind Jin to want to have her as his
mate; after all, Ruka was surely attractive and she seem to be exactly what his
cheery friend and partner needed.

Nevertheless, this considered them all to find
someone else that would guaranty them a trustfully new member for a bigger,
fully numbered team for their sect.
In addition candidates for partnership were
rare to find under yokai and otherwise too.
Even in their own sect it was nearly impossible
for the three to find a fitting person that was trustfully enough for the three
for fitting their wants in this matter, to fit in their long time relationship
with each other.

The most where too much focused on their own
ambitions and too untrustingly for them to take them in and form a new team.
The rest was more like Raisho and Backen and so
no one the three warriors of the Shinobi wanted to have again in their team.
They missed their former member badly.

Even their sect wanted them all to form a new
team that would work, not that the three did not work well enough. It was only
better for the work their sect did to work in a full team as only as trio.
Moreover, mostly, Jin and Touya worked alone.

Touyas thoughtful gaze traveled over the barely
to see shadow of the ningen between the trees; the young man had practice in
hiding his body from sight.
He could tell that this sniper had his name not
for nothing, his aims, from what Touya had seen in the last hour where more
then precise and the stupid demons that had tried to harm them all, when they
leaved the small town; had never been missed from the human.

It was, even to Touya impressive how much skill
the young man had in this and his powers where unique!
He and Jin had watched the slender ningen since
they had spotted him in the bar at the inn.
He had skillfully avoided it to get spotted
from the yokai inside of it, even as he was the only human inside of the room!
The others had not become aware of the tall
human in their middle!
The bartender was a little confused about this
too but he dismissed it with a shrug, after the sly male gave him some extra
coins for his quite.

They had watched the ningen blend in the
shadows for nearly an hour before both stepped over to his hiding spot and
asked him after Kazuma and the tiger.
First, the human called sniper did not even let
them know that he saw them or heard their question, after nearly two minutes,
he finally went his violet eyes to them and sized with them the two Shinobi for
some more seconds.
He asked them in a calm voice why they asked
him.
After Jin told him that they where friends of
Kazuma out of the Tournament times and that they where concerned about his
state of injury, he finally lead them to the small room the two had choose to
sleep in.

Later the night, after the bakas of the
detectives group began to rant about them all for being in the Shinobi room and
nearly put up a fight about their meaning of a proper behave for a human, he
was the first who got outside and tried to stop them. It was much to the two�s
surprise the, until then, so silent and seemingly calm human that lost it
earlier as Jin and began to yell at the bakas.

It was that second, Jin and Touya had begun to
muse about the human a little more as they did it normally about stranger
people.
Later the same night, both had a little talk
about their thoughts and agreed with each other to watch sniper the next time
to find out what the ningen could do more and where his limits lay.
After Jin went finally to sleep, Touya had
watched the ningen silently and had asked the wake tiger about the strange
ningen at their side.

Byakko told him some things but held the most
back; to protect his only trustworthy team member, Touya suggested.
The tiger told him that the human was the only
sane other member of this group of individuals and that he was constantly
holding Kazumas and his back free from being attacked during a fight. That
sniper could be trusted and that the ningen was a good fighter on his own.
That he not judged someone and mostly was quite
and calm.

For Touya this all sounded hopefully, more
since he saw snipers reactions earlier to the entire theme.

Hagiri�s frame blend with his dark clothes
perfectly with the shadows around them.
The human was constantly using his territory
powers to find attackers in the dark forests shadows around their traveling
group.

The moves where smooth and he made no more
sounds as necessary when he moved from spot to spot.
The silent ningen was a surprise and Touya
suggested him to be a natural killer.
He had heard of the Sensui accident and knew
about the young humans role in it. That he had nearly killed Urameshi was a
plus in Touyas and Jins eyes for the ningen.

He asked himself if the human knew how much a
ninja sniper really was, with all of this skills and ways to act.
It seemed to the demon that the human did not
realized it fully how much alike he was to the Shinobi and quietly mused about
the silently moving ningen with a curiosity that was born of a long time of
observing a target or a person.

At his side, Jin had mirroring thought running
through his mind and both yokai used the silent speech of gestures their sect
used to tell the other their thoughts.
It surprised them both how much alike their
thoughts where going along the others and agreed that Jin should try it to *
speak * a little with sniper.
To ask him out a little and to find out what
this * silent water * was hiding behind his calm mask the entire time.

Sniper was fully aware of them trying to spy
him out the entire time.
The shorter ones gaze send constantly thrills
of coldness down his spine. He saw the ice yokai use his attacks to freeze
their enemies in the short fight and did not want to end like this!

Jins punches where impressive and his wind
attacks where deadly!
The two Shinobi where a deadly pair from
snipers view and he was more as curios about this two yokai since he spotted
them last night in the inn�s barroom.
He had known them, trying to find out how he
managed it to stay unnoticed from the yokai inside the bar the entire time. It
amused him to no end!

Both remembered him to ninjas and Kazuma told
him later that, that was exactly what they where.
Now, he was a curio about them more as before.
Sensui told him once that the ninja in the
Makai had once tried to fight the Urameshi team in this tournament and failed
against the former detectives team.

This two had been on that team.
Silently, sniper asked himself why they seemed
so obsessed with his sorry person!
Had he done something wrong?
He had pretend to be asleep the most of the
night, constantly feeling Touyas cold gaze on his frame.

Somehow, this had thrilled and scared the human
at the same time.
Both yokai where handsome creatures and looked
more human as Byakko did it.
Now, sniper frowned slightly, where had this
thought come now?
He stuffed it in the back of his mind for later
and traveled on.
Especially the ice yokai�this time the ningen
shake his head free of these thoughts, smirking shortly to him, the sniper went
on again.

Suddenly his senses told the human that Jin was coming over to him
and he went his eyes to the yokai in a questioning manner.

Nevertheless, before he could ask the demon
what he wanted, a piercing scream to his left told everyone of the group of the
arrival of their next opponents this young day.

As it
seems, Katzztar chan was (again) right with her musing about me writing more
chapter as I formerly have planned it, Dammit!
Why do it every time run away with me???
No fair!!!
