Hiei's Harem - Pt. 10 - Initiating

Scene 5 --------- The Main Camp


* When Hiei enters the clearing he glances around. Gamaru is lazily stroking Silis' hair since the younger male is asleep with his head in Gam's lap. Troiyoku and Coutaro are cuddling in the natural alcove beneath them. The rest of the pack are on the other side of the clearing relaxing. Celestia is nursing River. Hiei moves quietly to the cave entrance. The sounds of more nursing reaches his ears and he continues on inside cautiously. Trinka glances toward him after she helps Sarista situate her second son onto her other breast. When Sarista senses Hiei and looks up quickly he instinctually sinks to sit down.


(#) Trinka- Should I go, Mother?


* When Sarista is satisfied that Hiei means her babies no harm she nods up at Trinka. The muted female pauses to bow to Hiei as she passes.


(#) Trinka- Will Aunt Lily be okay?


* Hiei gives a brief, silent nod and Trinka continues on out. Hiei looks back toward Sarista. For several moments neither speaks as she watches him study their nursing sons. Knowing, from watching him interact with River, that he won't hurt them she relaxes.


Sarista- You may.. come closer.


* Hiei half glances up at her.


Hiei- It's okay.. I'll stay here.


* Sarista tilts her head.


Sarista- Do they please you?


* For a moment Hiei is too distracted by his mewling, nursing sons. Then he snaps out of his haze to look up at her.


Hiei- Y-yes.. of course.. I can already feel their.. strength.

Sarista- Hai.


* Hiei lowers his eyes as he considers leaving.


Sarista- Hiei, they are yours.


* He looks back up at her surprised.


Sarista- Why would you even doubt..? How dare you think that I would..?!


* In his distraction, Hiei had left all of his thoughts and insecurities unguarded.


Hiei- 'Ris, I..


* Sarista knows her Alpha well enough by now to calm herself down.


Sarista- Please.. explain.


* The Koorime sighs, rubs his forehead a moment, then drops the hand into his lap.


Hiei- I was always told that I was.. sterile.. Useless..

Sarista- And since you never.. produced before you believed that.

Hiei- I wasn't exactly a virgin when I came here.

Sarista- But you never took mates before that, either.


* Hiei looks up at her. She smirks knowingly.


Sarista- Fire demons won't produce until they're mated, Hiei.. We're silly that way.. Males more so than females.. They won't sire babies with demons they don't trust or.. care for.

Hiei- Again with the emotional..?!

Sarista- Don't raise your voice around my babies.


* Hiei shrinks back some, but keeps his attention on her.


Hiei- That's not possible.. If it were I wouldn't be here.

Sarista- What?

Hiei- Father produced me..

Sarista- Then he had to have had some kind of a mating bond with your mother.


* Hiei falls silent and dumbfounded as he lets her words sink in, 'Then maybe her death wasn't.. completely my fault..'


Sarista- You still have so much garbage to unload.


* Hiei resumes his usual aloof aire as he crosses his arms.


Hiei- I am a cruel, heartless b------.. I have no right to..

Sarista- Perhaps you were.


* Hiei looks at her again.


Sarista- But now you're an Alpha with a pack that cares deeply about you.

Hiei- It's not like I've never had.. friends.. Associates..

Sarista- Hiei, you're planning to do something no other alpha in this region has ever been able to do completely.

Hiei- None of them are as strong as I am.


* Sarista nods.


Sarista- If only you were as confident in us as you are of your abilities.


* Hiei lowers his eyes a moment then looks back at her again.


Hiei- I am confident that I've trained all of you well..

Sarista- That's not what I mean.. You know what I'm talking about.


* Hiei and Sarista study each other a couple moments. When Hiei starts to stand Sarista reaches out and stops him.


Sarista- Do you wish to accuse me of being unfaithful to you?


* Hiei slumps back onto his rear, his expression showing clear astonishment.


Hiei- What?! H--- no! I know you haven't..

Sarista- Then how else do we explain these boys?


* Hiei looks down at the nursing twins.


Sarista- And what about River? She is the perfect little copy of you.


* Hiei relaxes and sighs.


Hiei- The problem is not that I.. deny them.. Any of them.. The problem is that I don't know.. how..

Sarista- It's simple.. All those other creeps lied to you.


* Hiei slowly processes her words as he looks back down at his sons. Sarista smiles.


Sarista- They are yours, Hiei.. And they need names.. Come here.


* She pats the fur beside her. Hiei carefully crawls into the alcove closer to her. She works one of the small boys off of her and hands him to Hiei.


Hiei- uhh..

Sarista- Take him. Just hold him like you do River.


* Very carefully the Koorime gathers the squirming, growling baby into his arms. Small, angry red eyes open to look up at him. Hiei becomes enamored by the tiny, scowling creature.


Hiei- Hn.. You are indeed mine, boy.

Sarista- I can tell right now that they're going to be a handful.

Hiei- Hn.

Sarista- Hiei, I want you to do what I tell you.


* Hiei glances toward Sarista. She reaches over and lifts one of her firstborn's clenching fists.


Sarista- Bite his hand. Gently.

Hiei- I'm not going to mark my..

Sarista- This isn't marking. This is just about dominance.


* He looks at her again.


Sarista- If you don't establish to him who you are he will never accept you.

Hiei- What? But I never bit River.

Sarista- These are males.. It's different with Fire males.. Trust me.


* Hiei looks back down at the squirming boy in his arms.


Sarista- Do what I said and he'll calm down.. Follow your instincts.


* Hiei takes the tiny fist and the little boy splays out his claws. They lock eyes as Hiei lifts the tense hand up to his mouth. As gently as he can, Hiei nips the tiny hand. The baby's snarl quiets slowly to a whimper. When he falls still and quiet Hiei draws back.


Hiei- Hisari.. That's the word I hear.. Is that.. your name?


* As soon as the name is spoken Hisari gurbles then closes his eyes and slips off to sleep. Sarista exchanges him for her second son so the ritual can be repeated. When Hiei draws back from this one's hand his mind remains blank.


Hiei- I'm not getting.. a name.. Just blank..


* Sarista smiles and reclaims her son. Hiei watches her stare down at him a moment, then she chuckles.


Sarista- His name is Sarhi.. A pair of jokers, these two.


* She looks up at Hiei.


Sarista- The mother always names the second born of twins.

Hiei- Ah.. Okay.. Sarhi.. His name is Sarhi.


* They watch Sarhi slip off to sleep, also. Sarista settles him down beside Hisari. She feels Hiei leave the alcove and looks at him.


Hiei- You need to rest again.. I'll check back later.


* Sarista smiles.


Sarista- Love you.


* Hiei half turns to look back down at her. After a moment he just grunts and leaves. Sarista settles down beside her sleeping sons.
