Chapter 51: Somethings Gotta Give

Deep in hyper space the three Underworld Defense Squad guys were standing by the hole that Kuwabara had sliced in the barrier not too long ago. They had no clue what was going on in the demon world nor what had happened back in the cave.

“Hmph! Not a single demon in sight.” sighed the girl, looking around, ready and alert.

“Why should there be? They clear out whenever they sense us in the vicinity.” snorted the blond haired man; who had the two loop earrings in his ears.

“Including the class-A types. We're too much for them.” he added.

“Heh...bragging about hunting the demon fox again?” said the Chuu look alike.

It was here that something caught there attention.

“Wait, an aura! No...two! And very powerful ones!” the blond said.

He turned around and stared in awe in the direction that they were coming from.

“Its from the demon world!” shouted the girl, her eyes wide.

“But that can't be!” shouted the Chuu look alike.

“YYYEEEEEEE!!!” you screamed as you threw your hands in the air.

“HEADS UP, YOU GUYS!!” Yusuke shouted, their only warning as Puu with you three riding him; fly above them.

“That was Yusuke Urameshi and that girl! They're not dead” shouted in shock the Chuu look alike.

“And Lord Koenma was with them!!!” the blond said in shock.

“Did you feel that girl and Urameshi's aura?! Wow!!” said the girl.

“No kidding...” mumbled the other two in astonishment.

You were having so much fun, you felt like you were on a roller coaster. You didn't know what was up with you, you thought maybe it was because of Yusuke's demon's blood pulsing thru your veins; but whatever it was it made you feel stronger and happier. It could have been just the fact that you were still alive. All you knew was you just couldn't wait to be with the rest of the group and strangely enough, you were looking forward the most to seeing Kuwabara. That thought made your heart flutter. You shook your head.

'What's wrong with me?' you thought as you guys busted out of the twilight zone looking tunnel and out into the open air.

You looked down in awe at what was the demon world. It looked like the human world; however just without the cities. It had been a long time since you had been in the demon world. The last time was for a very short time back when you had gone on your first mission with the group of boys; back during the Saint Beast saga. You shook your head with a smile. It was funny how your last mission, it seemed anyway, would be were your first one had been.

Your head snapped up when you sensed four familiar auras; three of them weaker then the last time you had sensed them.

“Hurry Puu!” you said realizing the guys were in trouble.

Yusuke smiled back at you.

“Don't worry sis, we're almost there.”

You smiled back and nodded. You held on tighter to Puu as he went faster to the guys.

Sensui turned around and looked where the hole he and the three men had fallen from.

“What's this I sense? It's coming from the hole....” he says no himself aloud.

Out of the demon sky came a creature holding three powerful beings, coming straight in the direction of where Sensui and the remaining Underworld Detective team lay. Hiei and Yoko Kurama stared in disbelief and awe, while Kuwabara sat up with wide eyes. The big blue bird landed gracefully several feet away from the trio. Three people jumped off the back and took a few steps towards the three who sat on the ground, wounds forgotten along with their fatigue.

Sensui took a step backwards with wide eyes.

'Reincarnation?! Ah....a throwback, that explains my hesitation with Urameshi, however....what is this power pulsing off that girl? Its....its the same as Urameshi's.....' Sensui thought, narrowing his eyes at the girl.

“Yu....suke?” said a shocked Hiei with wide eyes.

“(YAFN)-chan....” said Yoko Kurama, his heart beating faster.

Kuwabara sat there with wide eyes not sure what to say or do.

“Sorry we're late guys!”

“Yeah, hit some traffic on the way here.” You said with a smirk.

“But even so, looks like I'm just in time! Did you really think I'd leave you poor saps to finish what I started?” Yusuke said walking closer to the group before he stood in front of them, his hands on his hips.

You came up behind him with a wide grin.

“Can't have all the fun bro.” you said with a wink.

Yusuke laughed.

“Guess you're right, but I think I should at least finish it.” Yusuke said with a wink at you.

You grinned at Yusuke and before you could say anything else, you were tackled by Kuwabara. You blinked up as Kuwabara was on top of you; your entire face red as a tomato.

“(YAFN)!! BUT HOW?! YOU....you....you were dead...I checked....you had no aura, or a heartbeat for that matter...what the hell happened when we left?!” Kuwabara said, hovering over your body, his face so close to yours.

You felt so uncomfortable and didn't know how to react or what to say. However, Kuwabara sat up and pulled you into his chest, hugging you tight, as if scared that you would vanish; that you weren't really there. You were stunned but let out a breath and smiled as you wrapped your arms around him and hugged him back; letting him know that you were really there and not going anywhere again.

The two of you continued to hug, everyone looking at the two of you with smiles; everyone except Sensui that is.

Kuwabara held you tight for a few more moments before he stiffened. You felt it and blinked up at him as he pushed a bit away from you.

“Your aura...it...it's different....so is Urameshi's....it's....” Kuwabara started to say, his eyes widening as his senses kicked in after the shock.

“It's DEMONIC!!” Kuwabara shouted, scooting backwards.

“You can't be!!” Kuwabara said, pointing at a blinking you.

Yusuke raised his eye brow, however it then dawned on him that his three team mates were out of the loop.

“Chill out man. It's a long story but in short; I'm like this throw back race of demon or something where my demonic genes didn't start up until that guy over there,” points nonchalantly at a glaring Sensui, “decided to give me the finger strike of death.”

“And as weird as it sounds, somehow when some of Yusuke's blood mixed with mine the demon blood that activated in his body, it in-turn did so in mine. So now...I guess you can say we are officially blood related.” you said with a grin and a chuckle.

Yusuke grinned widely and wrapped his arm around your shoulders.

“My mom always wanted a daughter.” chuckled Yusuke.

You laughed too, while the group sweat dropped at the two of you.

Hiei snorted and closed his eyes as he shook his head, a slight curve on his lips.

Yoko smiled more than relieved to see his fellow comrades alive and well; mostly you of course. Inside, Kurama was relieved and wishing he could come up to say hi, however he knew that the miasma in the demon world was a bit toxic to humans, if they stayed too long there.

Kuwabara seemed to be the only one, other than Sensui that is; who would need to go back to the human world soon before the atmosphere here would start to affect him. However, for right now; Kuwabara's spirit energy seemed to be keeping him safe. He didn't seem to feel the affects of it. All he could do was blink at the two people who he loved dearly. He let out a relieved sigh before plopping himself down onto the ground. He sat Indian style and looked a bit more calm.

“So what? Are you guys half demons or something?” he asked.

Yusuke shrugged as he let go of your shoulder.

“I don't know...but it sounds like I might be completely demon or something. Although...” Yusuke said, looking down at his chest, where the hole should have been.

“For some reason I don't have a heartbeat.”

Yusuke patted his chest lightly, thinking maybe it was a delay reaction and might need a little 'kick start'.

You blinked. You hadn't noticed it til just then too. Your hand went to your chest and realized you too didn't feel a pounding in your chest. That you too didn't have a heartbeat!

Your eyes grew wide as you continued to feel your chest, making a few of the guys blush as it looked awkward, considering you had some....ahem...boobies attached there.

“What the hell?! I don't have a heartbeat either!” you shouted, a bit freaked out and a bit hyperventilating.

“You too?!” Yusuke said, turning to you with wide eyes.

A snort came from Hiei and Yoko, causing you to stop your freaking out and blink at the two of them. Soon, the snort turned into a chuckle and soon the two were laughing hysterically. Yusuke looked at them for a moment before chuckling himself. You just stood there very confused as Kuwabara glared at the two demons.

“Both of you now have a 'core'. It beats instead of your 'heart'. Think of it as a demon heart.” Yoko said with a smirk.

“So there IS demon in you. Guess I'll never figure you two out.” Hiei said with a smirk as well.

“I don't feel any different...” Yusuke said, looking back down at where the hole should have been.

“ I don't feel much different either....just a bit more energized!” you said, now more relaxed at finding out you still had a heart pumping, it just worked different from what you were use to.

“Well, then...” Yusuke said, turning towards Sensui; who was patiently waiting it seemed.

“Where did I leave off....oh yeah, kicking yer ass!” Yusuke said, cracking his knuckles and a smirk on his lips.

“Hold on there, po'dner. I'd like to take him on first.” Hiei said, standing up; his aura seeming to spike from zero to 100% in no time flat.

“Same here.” said Yoko Kurama also standing up; his aura just as strong as Hiei's.

“Geeze, what went on while I was dead?” Yusuke said blinking at the two. “You all seem sharper, stronger!”

Kuwabara looked on quiet for a few moments before a grin crossed his lips. And then a chuckle until he began to laugh hysterically. He stood up in an instant.

“Wait, I'll go first! I can beat him! I KNOW I can!” Kuwabara said.

'As long as (YAFN) is still alive, I can kick this guy's ass.' Kuwabara thought.

“You're delusional.” snorted Hiei.

“Stop saying that, you miserable runt!” growled Kuwabara turning to Hiei a bit more than pived.

“Just stating a fact moron.”Hiei said with a glare.

You sighed but smiled as you shook your head.

“You guys, save that energy for something OTHER than fighting with each other.” you said with a smirk.

“But he started it!” growled Kuwabara, pointing at Hiei.

“Don't blame me for your stupidity.” Hiei said, rolling his eyes.

You shook your head.

“Why you little twerp!” growled Kuwabara.

He went to grab Hiei when the little fire demon stepped backwards and let Kuwabara trip right over his foot; falling right on his head. Yoko smirked, while Yusuke laughed.

You would have joined if you didn't have your attention towards Sensui who was staring at you and the group. Koenma looked sadly at his former Underworld detective. He felt pity for that man; feeling it was his fault he had gotten like this. This hatred towards the Underworld and towards humans.

Soon Yusuke and the rest of the guys noticed Sensui was staring that them and glared back. Kuwabara sitting down, Hiei standing behind him; Yoko standing behind him, while you and Yusuke stood next to the trio; all glaring death stares at the man.

“I know how you guys feel....but I really must ask you to let me....” Yusuke said before turning around with fire in his eyes, “Go first.”

Kuwabara gulped at the pure power that pulsed through Yusuke. Hiei stared at Yusuke for a few moments before pointing at him.

“Very well. But rest assured, I'll catch up soon...to you and him.” Hiei said.

Yusuke smirked and nodded.

“You kick his ass bro!” you said, patting him on his back.

He smiled at you and gave you a wink.

“Don't worry about that.”

He walked slowly towards Sensui, while the man got ready to face off with the newly turned demon.

Power pulsed between the two men, as their bodies began to glow. They stood there looking ready at any moment to attack; hands cracked into a fight position while feet slowly lifting off the ground. You could feel a chill in the air; this was going to be the final battle and it wasn't going to be pretty.

In a blink of an eye, the two shot up into the sky, their bodies surrounded in their auras. The sky was lite up with flashes from the power filled punches. The two seemed to be suspended in mid air as they threw punches too quick to see to the naked eye; only seeing the after math glows of the blows. The force from the air battle could be felt on the ground; as the energy sent debris and hot air swirling around you all.

They traveled through out the air, punching with electrifying punches that would cause a magnetic pull on the ground below; pulling up chunks of rocks up into the air, acting like steps. You watched in awe as all you could see were lights in the sky moving across it within the rubble and rocks that were flying along side them. It looked like a DBZ movie, just live action. You shook your head.

'This is better than DBZ.' you thought.

All of a sudden, one of the lights slammed into the other, sending it down, landing onto one of the flying rocks. Yusuke was crouched on the rock, as Sensui came straight at him with a powerful punch. Just as Sensui's fist crash through the rock; Yusuke was already several feet away, flying backwards.

Yusuke's hand stretched out and as if in slow motion; you watched as he slowly powered up his famous rei gun before firing the biggest one you've seen since the Dark Tournament when he fought younger Toguro.

Sensui's eyes widened as it seemed this would be it; that Sensui wouldn't be able to escape his fate and you could all go home sipping hot cocoa and enjoy the rest of your lives. However....

“Huh?! I MISSED? No way!” Yusuke said a bit shocked.

There behind Sensui was an exploded bolder; which could have been him.

However, it seemed that some of Yusuke's fire power hit some of Sensui; as some of his chi cloth armor had been a bit ripped.

Yusuke landed back on the ground confused as he looked at his pointer finger. Sensui landed on his knees, more than likely shaken at his near death experience.

“I don't get it...” Yusuke said looking puzzled.

“You need to practice it seems.” you said, not sure how Yusuke could have missed either.

“It seems his sense haven't yet caught up to his new level of power.” Hiei said.

“Knowing him, though, he'll adjust pretty quickly.” Hiei added.

“You fired one off before you went in the cave, y'know! Don't wast your shots Urameshi!” Kuwabara shouted.

“Ah....that's right. And I fired a shotgun too. Hmm....” Yusuke said looking down at his finger.

“One more...” he said as he saw his pointer finger being the only finger that was glowing.

“Well...I'll save it for the right moment.” Yusuke said with a smile.

However, Yusuke's thoughts were interrupted as Sensui powered up again, his entire body surrounded by his aura.

You all looked on in anticipation. Sensui's armor seemed to break apart into pieces and underneath he was still in his black outfit.

“He shed his armor! But his aura...it increased!” Kuwabara said with wide eyes.

“He's switching to attack mode!” Koenma gasped.

“Pu, round everyone up and clear the deck. This could get a bit messy.” Yusuke said, turning to Pu.

Sensui's new armor was now more light and protected his knees, shoulders, and hands. It was an armory certainly made for attack use only.

Kuwabara grabbed onto Puu along with Koenma; as Hiei just grabbed his leg. Yoko was able to make wings and fly up on his flower petal wings. You sat behind Kuwabara and Hiei when they finally were able to climb onto of the beast.

Sensui and Yusuke went at it, just after Pu's feet left the ground. Sensui was the first one to make the first strike, sending Yusuke skidding backwards. Sensui didn't waste any time before he was on top of Yusuke again; with a powerful punch that destroyed the entire half of the cliff the two had been fighting on. You all looked on in awe and shock as Yusuke had seemed to escape that epic attack and was using the rubble to maneuver as stepping stones as he reached Sensui and the two had another punch battle, both landing a punch on the other.

Sensui began to turn up his S-game by throwing punches that you couldn't even see move. Sensui's attack pushed Yusuke into being on the defensive and had the two of them fighting on the small piece of rock left of the cliff that was there only moments ago. Sensui gave one more hard punch, sending Yusuke flying backwards and into the air. He landed on another part of the cliff left and licked the small dribble of blood that appeared in the corner of his mouth.

The two stood across from each other on two separate parts of what was left of the cliff.

“Holy cow! In just a few seconds they blew that huge rock away!” Kuwabara said, his eyes wide and in awe at the pure power the two had.

“Hey, let's move to another arena. Someplace with more room to maneuver.” Yusuke said with a smile.

“I'd like that.” Sensui said, standing in a relaxed stance with a smile on his lips.

Yusuke looked off to the left and pointed to a pillar.

“You see that high pillar over there? It's all rocks and sand beyond that.” Yusuke said.

“You've been there before?” Sensui asked, a bit interested.

“I think my ancestor has.” Yusuke said with a smirk.

“Let's go!” Yusuke said before the two had a race, it seemed; towards the pillar that was several miles away.

“Where'd they go?!” Koenma shouted.

“That-away!” You shouted.

“Let's go Pu!” you added.

Pu purred before rushing off after his master.

Yusuke was almost at the pillar when he felt something in his chest.

As you flew on Pu's back; at the same time Yusuke felt something in his chest; you did as well.

“Eh?” you said, placing your hand over where your heart use to beat.

“You okay?” Kuwabara asked.

You looked up at him and nodded and gave him a reassuring smile.

“Yeah, let's just focus on Yusuke now.” you said with a smile.

Kuwabara gave you a look before looking back at where Yusuke was.

As soon as you guys reached the area the two had been heading towards; you saw the two already going at it like animals. Dirt and rocks flew up from the ground with each punch thrown, each power being used, and every step they took it seemed. They ended up in a literal hand to hand combat as their hands locked in a battle of who could push the other. The two's auras pulsed and spun around the two.

“An aura cyclone! Stay back, Pu. Let's not become collateral damage.” Koenma said, sweat coming down his face as he looked at the many little tornadoes that were formed from the two clashing powers of two S-classes.

Finally, Sensui broke free and elbowed Yusuke in the face, sending Yusuke backwards into the sand filled arena. When the dust cleared, Yusuke was gone. It was silent for a few moments.

“I know you're behind me. Don't try being sneaky if you can't hide your aura.” Sensui said, not even turning around.

Yusuke popped up from under the sand with a goofy grin on his face.

“Heh...guess you're right. It's like riding a bucking bronco...I can't rein it in yet. But I'm getting the hang of it.” Yusuke said with determination in his face and eyes.

Sensui turned around and smirked. Yusuke stood up and dusted himself off.

“Hey, what's that smile about? Still got something up your sleeve, eh?” Yusuke asked.

“Not really. Hardly worth your notice.” Sensui said.

“Tell me.” Yusuke asked, sounding interested.

“No, not yet.” snickered Sensui.

“Feh! You're trying to bluff me!” Yusuke said, pointing at Sensui.

He wasn't going to be fooled again.

“Heh heh...perhaps.” Sensui said.

“Whaddaya think Hiei...?” Kuwabara asked, turning to said fire demon; however he was out like a light; sitting up no less.

“Shhhh.....he's sleepy.” you said with a smile.

“Yusuke may not yet have full use of his powers so Sensui may still have an edge....” Yoko Kurama said, answering Kuwabara's question.

You all went back to watching in anticipation what would happen next.

“Okay, whatever. Ready for round two?” Yusuke asked, he took step; ready to attack when he felt another heart beat.

At the same moment, you felt the same thing stir in side you. You closed your eyes and felt something deep inside of you. You didn't know what but you felt something controlling you and Yusuke, slowing. You felt a song snap into your head and couldn't help but start to sing it, as something deep within yourself began to change.

(You began to whisper something, which didn't go noticed until you grew louder. Your entire body began to glow, causing Kuwabara to eep. Koenma stared widen eyed at you, not sure what he was sensing from you. Yoko stared with wide eyes; he could tell something was off with you)

FLOOOOOR

(You screamed, as Yusuke's body stood up straight, his eyes wide as the beating continued to grow with in his heart as well as yours)

Beaten, why for

Can't take much more (here we go, here we go here we go now)

(You felt yourself beginning to loose yourself, something was taking over you and there was no way you could stop it. You body began to rise slightly off of Pu, as your body also pulsed a swirling mix of blue and purple.)

One! Nothing wrong with me

Two! Nothing wrong with me

Three! Nothing wrong with me

Four! Nothing wrong with me!

One! Something's got to give

NOW!

(“Huh? What now?” Yusuke said, not sure what was going on, but he didn't like it. He felt something sink inside of him, searching his brain and trying to control him. He felt his body go weak as he leaned over.

'you can't be....with HIM...' echoed through both Yusuke's and your own head.

Yusuke's eyes widened and went a bit white; as did yours.

Kuwabara's hand reached out to grab you, fear in his eyes. “(YAFN)!” he shouted, however his hand was zapped way from some sort of electrifying field that surrounded you. Your eyes became blank with white, as your hair began to float around you. If you were awake and watching yourself, you'd describe the scene as when Jean Grey turned into the Phoenix.)

(Sensui looked at Yusuke with a grim look. Kuwabara was more concerned about you as your body seemed to pulse with the color now having red in the mix. You floated above Pu, you could feel yourself slowly loosing control over your self.

Yoko looked between you and Yusuke. He could tell whatever was happening to you was happening to Yusuke; and vis versa.

'You can't be having that much trouble with HIM. Time I showed you how to USE your power.' said the voice,)

Now...! Now...! Now...!

(All of a sudden both you and Yusuke's body were covered in light.)

Push me again (again)

This is the end (here we go, here we go, here we go now)

('you must lend your energy. You took his energy...' the voice said as your body began to glow and change in mid air as Yusuke's own body was engulfed in energy.)

One! Nothing wrong with me

Two! Nothing wrong with me

Three! Nothing wrong with me

Four! Nothing wrong with me!

(A light surrounded Yusuke as his body changed. His hair grew long and was thick as a lion's mane. Your body changed into a pulsing red/purple glow before your own body began to change. Your hair turned the lightest blue close to white yet not. Your eyes opened as they turned a dark purple color. Yusuke's eyes turned a crimson red as his eyes filled with hate and death. Your body continued to float in the air as your own hair grew. Markings appeared on both your body as well as Yusuke's, in the same places and the same kind of markings. However, while his were a deep blue, yours was a deep purple.)

Now!

(Finally, the dust cleared and Yusuke was revealed to the worlds; as your body floated down next to Yusuke and walked in sync besides him. Sensui stared at the two of you, fear in his eyes.)

“Brilliant.”
