Chapter 6: A Discovery and Mating

�Well that was a waste of our time.� Hiei said as he held a cloth to Yusuke�s bleeding shoulder. �It didn�t even work in the smallest sense.� Hiei left Yusuke�s side and paced the room. Why didn�t it work? He was sure that if they made love and the one up to his hilt in the other bit the one below him, was all that it was all it took. That was what he remembered anyway. �Stay there.� He said as he walked over to the unplugged phone and rang Kurama. �Shut it, Fox.� Hiei said the moment that Kurama answered, knowing that the kitsune on the other side would be wondering why he was calling. �What do you know about the mating habits of Toushin demons? Come on don�t dumb with me, I know you too well. You know very well why I want to know, so out with it.� There was some silence before Hiei sighed. �Thank you, Kurama.� He set the receiver down.
�So what did Kurama say?� Yusuke enquired as he sat up, and seeing the look in the other�s eyes he sighed. �So he didn�t know either.� He said lying back down, however Hiei didn�t join him, instead he walked over to the sideboard and picked up the communicator, flipping it open and saw Koenma�s face.
�Right, Koenma, Yusuke and myself will be paying you a little visit shortly. We wish to converse with Raizen. It seems that Yusuke�s daddy dearest forgot to impart some important information onto him. This is not a request.� Hiei said without allowing Koenma to speak. �Tell that oar woman to pick us up.� With that he snapped the communicator shut and returned to the bed and pushed Yusuke out of the bed onto the floor. �Get dressed, we are going to get those answers from your father.�
Yusuke looked up at his lover from where he lay on the floor. �What?� He asked before clothing hit him in the face, and dressed in the clothing, as Hiei wrote a message for Yukina telling her about the new developments and that they would be back soon. A knock on the window told them that their lift had arrived, and seeing Botan they got onto the oar too and she took them to Reikai. �You left Lord Koenma in quite a stir with that last message.� She said as they arrived just outside the gateway to Reikai. �He was not pleased.� She announced her arrival and the group entered the building. She took them to Koenma�s office and knocked on the door and showed them in.
Koenma was having a tantrum. Papers were flying everywhere and George was trying so hard to tidy them up before they were otherwise destroyed and that meant that they had to be rewritten. �Who do they think they are? I�m the one who gives orders and demands! Me!� Hiei smirked at the Prince of the Underworld. Seemingly he had allowed his request after all. He was sure that Yusuke would have to persuade Koenma before he would allow it. It was then that Koenma noticed that they were there. �You better have a good excuse as to why you requested such a thing.� Koenma said in his normal voice as though nothing had happened. �A request for a visitation is often denied.�
�My father never explained anything to me, and it has only just occurred to me how little I know about my own kind.� Yusuke said, linking hands with Hiei. �I need information from him about my own skills and abilities.� Yusuke laughed nervously. �I guess I need answers� It took Koenma a moment before he finally stamped the approval onto the paper allowing Yusuke and Hiei to see Raizen. Again Botan accompanied them to the place where they would finally be allowed to see Raizen, and as she opened the door, Yusuke could see that Raizen wasn�t alone. With him was a tall, dark-haired beauty, a woman that reminded him of his mother. As the two living souls approached the two dead ones, Yusuke realised who this woman was. This was his ancestress, the human that started his line, the one that gave him this lineage.
�Welcome, my son.� Raizen said as he approached Yusuke and Hiei. �What brings you and your chosen one here?� He asked, recognising Hiei for who he was, and also by the fact that his son was covered in his scent. The woman approached Raizen and wrapped an arm around his. �Oh, Kamiko, this is the descendant of the child that you carried. He is Yusuke, and the one with him, I believe, is Hiei.� He didn�t miss the surprised look from Yusuke that he would know Hiei. �I may have refused to eat for five centuries, my son, but I never refused to hear, especially if it concerned either Yomi or Mukuro. If I am not mistaken, he is the imiko abandoned 150 years ago by the Koorime. I have heard a lot about you before you joined Mukuro. The first person to control the Dragon of the Darkness Flame, last I heard about you was that you were Mukuro�s heir.� He looked at Yusuke again. �Now, what is the matter?�
Yusuke sat on the ground, sitting on the balls of his feet. He remembered the first time that he sat in his father�s presence on the ground and his father had attacked him. Raizen laughed as he followed suit, while Kamiko offered her arm to Hiei, which he took. �Well, I was wondering what the difference between our mating habits and those of other demons. Hiei and myself already have twins and we would like to cement our relationship, however when we tried to mate as other demons did it ended up more messy than matey.�
�To our kind, my son, that is the second part. The first part is much more taxing on both the mind and the body.� He wrapped an arm around Yusuke�s shoulders. �Let me give you what my own father gave me.� He went on to explain about Toushin physiology, and what �mating� meant to their kind, and also the requirements needed. �You see, things aren�t as easy with our kind as it is with most others.� Raizen said. �I have rarely seen one of our kind mated with another of our kind, not speaking of one out with the group. It leaves us vulnerable to attack for a few hours, meaning that we have to rely on others to protect our mates and ourselves until the power exchange has levelled out. You had better be very sure before you even attempt at trying to do this.� Yusuke nodded.
�I am already sure, I want no other, and he has told me the same. Thank you for the warning though, I shall be sure that we are very careful.� Yusuke said when he felt his father�s hands cradle his head.
�Now I would like to see my first grandchildren, feel free to roam my mind in return.� Raizen said as he concentrated on seeing his �grandchildren�. Yusuke relaxed, letting him enter as he did the same. He found himself in a corridor of doors, some which opened when he tried them, and others that remained firmly closed. From his roaming, he learned more about himself from what he saw, that he was what his father had wanted to be since he had met Kamiko. He was a Toushin demon without the need for human flesh. He had his father�s abilities inside him; all he had to do was unlock them.
While he had been finding out information, Raizen had, almost, been cooing over his son�s memories of the twins. He could see that both held a look of both their parents, although it was mostly from Hiei�s side, after all he was their mother. However the �big, bad, Toushin� had simply fallen in love with his descendants. When he released Yusuke�s mind from his hold he laughed. �Your son has a nice mix of Toushin DNA in with that of his mother�s hi-youkai DNA. As for your daughter, I fear she will be a heartbreaker.�

While Yusuke and Raizen had been having a conversation, Hiei had been talking with Kamiko. �So what attracted you to Yusuke?� She asked as they stopped near a fountain. Black eyes looked into crimson as she trailed a hand in the water.
�I guess there was something there since we first met. At that point, we weren�t exactly on the same side. With two others I stole the three Artefacts of Darkness from the inner vault of Reikai.� Hiei started as he looked into the water. �At the time I knew that I had to be wary of him, he had defeated one of my �allies� and convinced the other to �turn over a new leaf�. I was determined that I would defeat him, needless to say that I failed too. As punishment, Kurama and myself were sent to look after him and another spiritually gifted ningen during Yusuke�s mission to defeat the Four Saint Beasts. I guess that was when I started to feel more than hate for him, or rather when I started to care for him. The reason; he trusted me.� Kamiko smiled. �My feelings only got stronger as time passed. Kurama knew before I did that I actually loved that fool. He said that he saw it in my eyes and in my actions, that I was always more willing to do something as long as it involved Yusuke. He even pointed out that my eyes were always glued to Yusuke when he fought, and I have to admit I had to agree. I guess that I finally admitted my feelings to myself when Yusuke died when facing Sensui, a rogue Reikai Tantei �unit�, before he his dormant demon blood awoke. I watched him die in front of my eyes, and I swore that I would kill Sensui or die trying. Well that is what Yusuke thought I was thinking, my actual thoughts were if I died I�d be with Yusuke and if I won I�d soon join him.�
Kamiko laughed. �That was very noble of you, I would never have done that. Then again although I loved Raizen, I didn�t really know him. He gave me a daughter, who I named Rai and I died shortly after. I never saw Raizen again until he joined me here.� She smiled as she wrapped an arm around Hiei�s shoulders. �Yusuke, although he is born from Raizen�s line, he looks very different from his demonic father, and yet when I looked into his eyes earlier he has the very same soul. I can understand why you were first attracted to him, Hiei. He is a mystery that can only be solved once you have tasted what he can offer.� Hiei nodded, and then he saw Yusuke motioning him back to him.
�I was honoured to have met you, Miss Kamiko.� Hiei said with a nod. �However it seems as though it is time for us to depart. I would like to come back sometime and speak with you again, and maybe I�ll take our children next time.� Kamiko nodded as Hiei went back to Yusuke and they left Reikai for Ningenkai.

�Well that was quite informative.� Yusuke said as they lay in their bed. �It seems that before we think about the biting, our energy must be on the same level, meaning that we have to combine both out energies and let them sort themselves out before we continue with anything.� He lay back. �Also while the energy is sorting itself out neither of us can use any of our attacks, leaving us vulnerable to attack.� Hiei looked up from where he had laid his head.
�Then we ask Kurama to come over here and have Yukina take the children to Kuwabara�s, that way if something does happen to either of us, the babies are safe.� Hiei said as he entwined his fingers with Yusuke�s. �Kurama has enough ability to protect us from almost anything.� Yusuke nodded.
�Well, shall we get this over with tonight then?� He asked as he placed his hand on the receiver. Hiei nodded. Yusuke tapped the speed dial for Kuwabara�s. �Hey, Kuwabara, is Yukina there? She is, brilliant. Could you ask her if she wouldn�t mind staying at yours tonight, we have a lot happening here and it wouldn�t be a very safe environment for the children until tomorrow.� He paused as Kuwabara asked Yukina, and smiled at the answer. �Thank you, Kuwabara.� Yusuke raised his thumb before tapping the speed dial for Kurama�s. �Hey, Kurama, could we ask a huge favour from you? We have just found out what was missing from the incident earlier and we were wondering if you would consider coming over. We may need your help.� Kurama agreed before he put the receiver down on Yusuke. �Well Kurama is excited.� Yusuke said with a laugh as he looked at Hiei. �Now we wait.�
An hour later and Kurama was at their door. �So, what do you need me for?� He asked as he sat on the floor. He had always wanted to see the mating of a Toushin. It was supposed to be a rare sight indeed, rare but beautiful.
�Well we need you to protect us if anything should attack. We have our own protections around the place, but everything will go haywire once we start, and once it begins we cannot stop it until it finishes naturally, otherwise we die.� Yusuke said as he held Hiei�s hands in his own. �Hiei you need to release all your energy as strong as you can.� Hiei raised his eyebrow.
�That means in my majin form, doesn�t it?� He asked as he started to change, his youki amplified by the many eyes over his body. In this form, Hiei was at his strongest, and Yusuke had only seen this form twice before. Following suit, Yusuke�s own form changed into that of his own majin form. His long hair fell over his shoulders as he concentrated on trying to fuse their youki together, and it eventually looked like a rope, a rope with two colours present in it, and the energies pulsed, drawing the other deeper into it.
For hours the pair sat facing each other, holding the other�s hands. Kurama watched as the room was filling up with their combined energies, and knew that this was why he had been called in. The energy that they were giving out was like a beacon to demons nearby, mesmerised by the power. They would do anything to get the power exuded by his friends, even kill the ones creating it.
Ten hours later and suddenly the energy disappeared and Yusuke slumped forward into Hiei�s arms. Having been told earlier what it meant, Hiei gently lay Yusuke down on the bed. He could feel not just Yusuke�s energy flowing through his lover, but his own as well. He spread Yusuke�s legs apart and pressed his erection against the opening. Yusuke had told him to waste no time, and it wasn�t as if it would be the first time they would have had sex without lube. Yusuke would probably regret it later, but he said he wanted it this way. He pushed in, not even noticing a change in Yusuke�s facial features. It felt as though he was making love to a board, but that board fitted him wonderfully and he started to speed up, needing the friction and feeling the need to sow his seed in the body below him.
Yusuke gasped as he felt the speed increase, and moaned �Now, Hiei.� With that Hiei sank his teeth into Yusuke�s shoulder, he could feel the energy blast that he had missed before as the connection asserted itself. As he relaxed on Yusuke, he could feel his new mate move below him, moving so he was on top. �My turn, my love.� He said with a smile as he pushed into Hiei, who arced back into his touch as Yusuke built up speed. Unlike Yusuke, Hiei was more able to react to the touches and stimulus than Yusuke had been and it didn�t take long for Yusuke to find his release in the other�s body, and bit the delicate skin and felt Hiei�s blood flow into his mouth, completing the bond, knocking them both unconscious.

It took three hours before they both came to, Yusuke first. He noticed the bite on Hiei�s shoulder had scarred over and realised that he could feel Hiei�s emotions and jumbled thoughts. He was awake but trying to sort his thoughts before showing himself as being awake in case it hadn�t worked. �Don�t worry, I suspect that it has worked just fine.� Yusuke said as he stroked Hiei�s hair when the crimson eyes opened. �It has worked just fine, see.� He said as he kissed Hiei, making the fire demon moan.
�Yes it has.� Hiei agreed, trying to get over the two blasts of pleasure he had felt, one from himself and the other from his mate. �Maybe too well, some may say.� He noticed that Kurama had made some food for them, and he wondered where the fox had retired to. �Come on, we need to see where the fox has gone.� He said as he pushed Yusuke off of him.
Together that left in search of Kurama and found themselves face to face with Yukina and the kids (whose eyes were conveniently covered). She smiled seeing the marks on their necks as she guided the children into her room, and almost fainted when she saw a sleeping fox on her bed.
Yusuke and Hiei had a quick shower and dressed and the pair walked out to see a sheepish Kurama sitting on his backside outside Yukina�s door. The same thought hit each other at the same time as it was passed along the formed bond and they laughed. Yusuke draped his arm around Hiei�s shoulder as he led his mate to the kitchen. �Breakfast, my love?� He asked innocently as he sat on a chair and Hiei smirked as he dropped to his knees before him.
�Don�t mind if I do.� Hiei said as he proceeded to have his breakfast a la Yusuke, making Yusuke sigh. This was the life�
