Chapter 7

Battle Between Fate

Kurama stared at his future son. Seth's once blue-green eyes, previously so full of energy and hope, were now cold and lifeless.

"Seth, how could you let this happen? You're stronger that that," Kurama said suddenly.

Seth let out a laugh. "All I know is that I should have joined her some time ago," he said. Kurama closed his eyes, his face tilted down and his eyes shadowed.

"Seth, Honey, remember, don't kill him. I like my boys to be able to move. Just beat him until he's begging," Lyra called. Seth nodded.

"Man, we've got to do something," Kuwabara said. Kuwabara and Yusuke went to jump into the ring, only to be blocked by some of Lyra's men.

"We made a deal, you two,” Lyra said. “Go against it and you all become mine without a fight. I know your little girlfriend and the one watching from the stands can't block any type of a attack." Lyra pointed to Keiko, Rachel, Yukina, and Botan.

Kurama looked to the group. "Don't do something stupid, Yusuke," he said softly, closing his eyes again. This fight was something he was going to have to do. He would knock Seth unconscious and try to find a way to get him back to normal.

"Damn…I can't believe she raped the kid," Kuwabara growled.

"Hey Hiei,” Yusuke said, “get up by the girls. Keep an eye on them. Jackie, you go up there, too."
Hiei had already disappeared after the first couple of words. Jackie shook her head.

"I'm staying here. I'm not going far with out Kurama and Seth," she said.

The foxes stared each other down, each waiting for the other to attack. All at once, the two had removed their rose whip, their attacks crossing uselessly.

"Seth, please snap out of it!" Kurama called.

"Shut up and fight," Seth growled as he attacked, cutting Kurama’s right arm. Kurama slid back some, holding the wound.

//Kurama, let me take over,// Youko’s voice called to his other side.

//No! I need to get him back to normal,// Kurama replied. He moved quickly out of the way of another attack. Seth had turned his whip into a sword.

//Too bad,// Youko said, leaving no room for debate as mist spilled out around the redhead.

//Youko, no!// Kurama wasn't able to stop the demon side from taking over.

Youko stared into the eyes of the young half fox and found nothing. No life…just an eerie feeling of loneness and a sense of being lost. The battle started over again, Youko trying his best to outdo the sword, but the younger boy knew all of Youko’s moves. Every hit from Seth, Youko lost a little chance of saving him.

As Youko dwelt on his fading hope, he didn't see Seth’s next attack. Youko’s eyes went wide as the lighting shot through him like a dagger, barely missing his heart. Seth grunted as he raised his sword again. He was going to finish the fox off. The smell of blood had gotten to him.

Youko, who had fallen to his knees, stared at his son. Maybe he didn't deserve to be a father, if he let this happen. Youko closed his eyes. He had told Jackie that he wouldn't let Lyra have his body. He would die before that.

The sound of metal hitting metal rang in Youko’s ears, and he looked up.

Kyo growled as he forced Seth’s sword back.

Lyra glared. She didn't like the way Kyo stepped in or, even less than she liked that, the fact that the “future kids” had made an appearance in this timeline.
"Boys, attack!" Lyra yelled. Her men turned to these new kids and attacked.

"Ultra Spirit Gun!" Kate yelled, blasting most of them back.

"Hey, that’s a little outnumbering," Kate growled. Lazan and Meggie stood near Kate. Yusuke turn to the new comers.

"Seth," Meggie called out.

Kyo’s sword clanged against Seth’s. "He's not one of us anymore," Kyo growled back at his sister.

Meggie’s eyes saddened. "Seth, how could you?" she cried out. Seth’s eyes shifted over slightly.

Jackie help up Kurama, who had turned human again. The two looked to the “future” teens fighting. Kyo’s right arm was bandaged tightly, a black energy starting to flash around it. Just like his father, he was able to control the Dragon. His opponent being Seth wasn't going to stop Kyo from using it.

Lyra laughed, but suddenly yelped as she was punched in the face. Meggie growled as Lyra fell over and slid down.
"How dare you touch him!" Meggie yelled.

Lyra’s eyes were slightly wide as she stood up, holding her creek. "How dare you?" Lyra hissed threateningly. Meggie growled. Most of the time, Meggie was a sweet girl, but when pissed off, she become very much like her father.

Kate turn to Kuwabara, and Kuwabara stared at Kate. "Yusuke, you're a girl" he said, perplexed. Kate growled. Yusuke hit Kuwabara upside the head.
"If you don't get it, dumbass, she’s my future daughter," Yusuke grunted. Kate rolled her eyes as she looked towards Meggie.

"Forget the bitch, Kyo’s going to kill Seth if we don't do anything, and Kyo won't hurt his baby sister!" Kate called out. Meggie growled as she turned, heading for the ring. Both were badly wounded. Kyo was about to use the Dragon.

"Kyo, no! Don't!" Meggie called out, getting in-between the two. Kyo froze, not wanting to hurt his sister. Meggie turned to Seth, who stared at her, his weapon ready to attack. Meggie turned all the way around and held out her arms as she moved forward.
"Seth, please…you know I love you," she whispered.

Seth seem to lower his sword. "Seth, kill her!" Lyra yelled. Seth raised the sword again and moved forward to attack. Meggie didn't move. As the sword came down, it stopped an inch from its target as Meggie moved forward, wrapping in her arms around Seth and burying her head in his chest.

"Seth, I love you!” Meggie cried, tears falling from her eyes and crystallizing before they hit the ground. “Please don't tell me you forgot me. You were my first, and I was yours!" Seth’s body seem to slump some. He dropped his weapon. Lyra growled as her eyes glowed. Seth yelped as he was forced into his demon form.

"Kill her," Lyra screamed. “Rip her apart!”
Seth’s eyes glowing red and he picked Meggie up, digging his nails into her skin. But she didn't let go.

Her eyes went up to meet Seth’s.
“Please don't leave me," she whimpered as she reached up and kissed Seth. The boy’s eyes went wide, but he slowly responded to the kiss, wrapping his arms around Meggie.

"It looks like the power of love beats out Lyra’s spell," Jackie said softly as she held the wounded Kurama. He slowly nodded before blacking out. Jackie looked worriedly at Kurama.
"Hold on, Love. Everything will be fine," she whispered, looking back at the ring.

"Seth, Meggie! Behind you!" Jackie called out quickly. Seth picked carried Meggie out of the line of Lyra’s attack. He slid to a stop next to Kyo and set Meggie down. Seth looked at Meggie before he fell back, badly hurt. Kate and Lazan quickly got Seth back near the group as the brother and sister pair power up their most powerful attacks.

"Dragon of the Darkness Flame!" Kyo yelled.

"Light Crossed Dragon!" Meggie yelled.

Two dragons blasted out of the shouts, coming together and forming one. Dark and Light together blasted Lyra. Lyra screamed as the blast hit her. Using what power she had left, she got out of there.

A few hours later, Jackie sat with Kurama’s head on her lap. He was bandaged now. When Yukina had her power back again, he would be healed. But for now, Seth needed the healing the most. He had wounds from Lyra, both from sex and battle. The group had made it back to Yusuke’s home.

But since Seth was awake and healed, he sat in the corner with his knees to his chest, his face in his arms.

"Oh, come on, Seth, we know it wasn't you," Kate said as she walked over to Seth.

Seth looked up. "Yeah, even though you slept with that freaky bitch, hurt Meggie’s heart, almost killed your father, and almost killed one of your teammates, we know it wasn't you," she continued. Every word made Seth feel smaller and smaller. (If you've ever read or seen Fushigi Yûgi, think of when Tamahome was back.)

"I think he get the point, Kate," Lazan interrupted. Seth sighed. It wasn't over. They didn't know if Seth could be pulled back under Lyra’s powers or not. Just the fact that she was still alive made everyone sick to their stomach. Hiei and Rachel had disappeared from the room.

"Jeez, Hiei left quick," Yusuke grumble. Kuwabara nudged Yusuke.

"I bet to work on Junior over there," he said, causing Kyo to look up.

"Watch it, dumbass. We really don't care if your kids are born in the future," Kyo threatened.

Lazan looked over. "Hey," he grunted.

Meggie stood up and walked over to Seth, gently taking his hand and pulling him after her.

Seth didn't look at Meggie. His hair cover his eyes. Meggie stopped Seth and turn to him, reaching up and cupping Seth’s face in her hands.
"Look at me, Seth," she whispered.

Seth looked at her. "I'm so sorry," he whispered back.

"Shhh," Meggie soothed.

Seth stared at her.
"Seth, I've love you since we were little. I trust you with all my heart. I know she was controlling you. She is a heartless woman who doesn't understand love," Meggie continued. Seth sighed as he took Meggie in his arms.
"You’re too good for me," he said. "I love you, Meggie. When we get home…maybe we could truly become mates."
She smiled.

"It would make me very happy," Meggie chuckled, kissing Seth sweetly.

Hiei set Rachel down. "So this is where you live," Rachel said. Hiei nodded. It was a cave, but inside it was a home. Rachel turned around to look at Hiei with a smile. She found him staring at her lustily.
"So,” she continued shyly, “those two the boys and the girl are our future child." Hiei nodded.

"I guess that means we…do end up together," she said. Hiei grinned as he walked up to Rachel, wrapping his arms around her.
"You are the only one to ever break through the ice around my heart," he whispered seductively. "Become my mate tonight."
Rachel giggled. "Okay. Show me what I have to do to become your mate."

"Making love is the first step," Hiei said, causing Rachel to blush as she nodded. Hiei smirked and kissed her.

NOTE: Leaving you there. Next chapter, Rachel becomes Hiei’s mate for life. Seth is back, but will he be able to keep the spell of Lyra away? And how is the gang going to be with the future kids around? Talk about becoming a parent way too fast. Hope you enjoy. Please review.
