Chapter 7: The Four Saint Beasts Part II

"Heh...indeed it is. Welcome, I Genbu, will take good care of you." said Genbu.

He stood there, swinging his long stone tail, in what seems to be in excitement.

"SHEE! Big sucker...!" said Kuwabara.

"I'll say, ugly too." you said low enough for Genbu not to hear you, but loud enough for the guys to.

You didn't want to get the attention of the scary rock dude.

"Behind me is the one stair case in the castle that leads up. Defeat me and gain the stairs...or die!!!" and with that Genbu slams his rock tail into the ground, causing a huge hole in the rock floor. "Come at me all at once. It'll save time....for me anyway."

"Y-you've gotta be yankin' me!!!! How d'ya fight a real live monster?!" said Kuwabara, with what seemed to be his eyes bugging out of their sockets.

It was obvious that he wasn't expecting anything like the demon that lay before all of you.

"Easy," you said. "distract him and get him off guard, while someone else destroys him. You want to be the distraction?"

You were trying to lighten the mood. You yourself found the 'monster' as Kuwabara called it, a fitting name for the demon, quite terrifying.

"No way Jose!! Why don't you be the distraction?!" said Kuwabara, not thinking what you said the least bit funny.

"I'll give it a whirl." said Kurama.

"Kurama!" said Yusuke.

You looked at him.

"So you know, I was only kidding. Not that you wouldn't be a nice distraction." you said that last part somewhat low.

So what you thought he was a hottie!?! Most people did!!

Kurama smiled at you. He did hear the end of your statement, but he didn't think that now was the right time to be 'flirting' with you, not that he didn't find you attractive or anything. He thought that you were not the average run of the mill human girl. He hadn’t meant any girl that wasn’t all over him not to mention drooling. It was because of this that he found you interesting, though from the scene that happened a little while earlier with you and Kuwabara, he had a feeling that you were already ‘taken�'.

Hiei had heard the comment also, but didn't like it. He narrowed his eyes at you. He wasn't sure why, but he felt...weird by what you said to Kurama. He didn't know if it was the way, you said it or that you said it to Kurama. In any case, he wasn't the type to ponder on such 'stupid' thoughts that didn't concern him.

"I know you were joking (YFN). I want to fight him first, just to see how he handles one of us, before we commit to a joint attack." he smiled at you, before turning towards Hiei, who had stopped glaring at you. "Anyway, I can't let Hiei have all the fun and take all the bows."

Hiei looked away.

"Feh! Who cares?"

Genbu grinned.

"So it's one at a time, eh? Come on then."

Yusuke, who hadn't seen Kurama fight before was nervous.

"Look, maybe we could sneak around him..." he started.

“Relax, Kurama may surprise you." Hiei exclaimed, "Fact is I teamed up with him because that's a lot smarter than going up against him, not that I couldn’t take him, okay?" He said, adding that last part rather quickly.�"Threaten him and he gets vicious in ways even I don't like to think about."

"I hear that." you said, remembering some fights Kurama had fought in during the Dark Tournament.

"How would you know?" asked a very suspicious Yusuke.

'Shit!�' you thought. 'What a moron! I was doing fine up to now. Then again, I didn't remember some of these episodes too well, since it being a long time.'

All of the guys gave you a suspicious look, except for Kurama who was too busy preparing to fight.

"Whenever you're ready." Kurama said, looking at Genbu.

You were starting to feel nervous under their stares. You knew you had to think of something fast!

"Well..." you begin, a sweat drop appearing on your forehead. “well...isn't it the quiet ones that are the most viscous?"

"Yeah, that's true. Like the shrimp over here." said Kuwabara, just tilting his head towards Hiei.

Kuwabara could tell that you were nervous by the question, and even though he was just as curious as the other two, he had decided when he first took you home that faithful day he had met you, that he wouldn’t pressure you to talk and would wait for you to tell him when you were good and ready.

Yusuke seemed to give Kuwabara a curious look. He couldn’t understand how easily Kuwabara could believe or except your answer as fast as he did. He turned his attention back at you, who gave a sigh of relief, which really made Yusuke suspicious about you.

Hiei gave Kuwabara a death glare. He didn’t care that what you said made any sense or not, all he cared for at the moment was shutting the human fool who was a constant aggravation throughout this mission that he didn’t even have to be in.

"So that would make you weak since you to talk too much." replied Hiei.

'Thank you Kuwabara for being you!!' you thought.

During this time, Kurama and Genbu were having a staring contest.

"Alright, I'll make the first move." Kurama said.

Yusuke, who had watched you this whole time while Hiei and Kuwabara had a verbal battle, turned his attention to Kurama and Genbu. His eyes widened as he gasped.

"His tail’s melting into the rock floor!" Yusuke shouted.

This comment had you look over, and had caused the bickering between Kuwabara and Hiei to cease. They looked over as well, to see what Yusuke was talking about.

"And it's coming up behind Kurama!!!" yelled Yuskue as the tail that had melt into the stone floor appeared behind Kurama.

"Kurama! Behind you!" you shouted, not able to help call out.

Kurama looked and his eyes widened at the sight of Genbu's tail behind him.

"Ha ha ha! Rock is my element! I move freely in it! It allows me to do things like this!!" Genbu said, sending his tail towards Kurama.

Kurama jumped away, however, he wasn’t quick enough since he was sliced by the tail across his stomach; exactly were he was injured by Hiei’s sword not too long ago. Kurama fell to his knees, one of his hands on the floor to help steady himself, his other hand holding onto the bleeding wound. Kurama had little droplets of sweat coming from his head as he breathed a bit heavily.

"He slid his tail right through rock!" shouted Yusuke, amazed, as Genbu’s tail went back into the floor and came back to its rightful place behind him.

"And nailed Kurama!" finished Kuwabara.

Your mouth would have hung open if you weren’t too worried about Kurama. You knew that was going to happen, but seeing it in real life; in front of your eyes was much different then sitting in front of a TV and watching it from the safety of your own home. You felt your-self-tense up at how much power you could feel emitting from the rock demon, not to mention the tension you could feel in the room.

"As you realize, this entire room is an extension of myself! You have no hope of escape!!" Genbu laughed.

"Kurama, say something! Anything!" shouted Yusuke, scared for Kurama's life.

"It’s okay. I've had worse...as you know. Genbu just caught me off guard, is all." he gave a weak smile at the worried detective.

He grunted from his injury and turned his attention back to his opponent, waiting to see what he would do next.

You stared at the injury, and against your better judgment and common sense you gave a growl and ran to your injured team mate, causing the rest of the guys to gasp; Kurama looking at you with wide, worried, eyes.

"Hey (YFN)! Are you nuts?! Get back here!" Kuwabara shouted

When you reached Kurama, you knelt next to him and touched his hand, pushing it away gently, to look at his wound. Kurama looked at you with surprise.

"You have to get that bandaged, right away!" you said.

You tore apiece off from the bottom of your shirt; having some of your belly show; but now you didn’t care. You were more concerned about that injury. It was worse then it should have been.

Genbu laughed.

"How touching! Well since I was going to destroy you also, girl, I might as well do it now! Heh. Heh." he said, disappearing into the floor.

"Gack!! Now his whole body was sinking into the floor! (YFN) get outta there!" yelled Kuwabara, obviously worried for your safety.

Hiei seemed to be tensed as well. Yusuke wasn't looking so good either.

"NO!" you said being stubborn.

You knew Kurama could take care of him self; being a demon and all, but it was your nature to help those in need or hurt. You were sort of a defender of justice.

"He's totally gone! (YFN), you better get outta there!!" shouted Yusuke.

"There's no telling where he'll come out! (YFN), if you don't get ya butt back 'er I'll have to come en get ya!" shouted Kuwabara.

"After I dress Kurama's wound you baka!! After that you can come en get me!" you shouted back, while wrapping your piece of clothing around Kurama.

It was tight enough to keep him from bleeding, but loose enough for him to breath.

"I'm done." you said with a smile.

'Thank God for the First Aid I learned back in high school gym class.' you thought.

You felt a presence close by.

Kurama gave you a weak smile.

"Thank you (YFN), however, I think it would be best if you..." he never finished, for at that moment Genbu came up behind YOU.

"BOO!!" Genbu said.

Kurama's eyes widened.

"Another sneak attack!!" Kurama shouted.

Without a moment to spare, he lifted you up into his strong arms and jumped back, away from Genbu’s arms that made an indent where you had been. As soon as Kurama landed, Genbu’s tail came out from behind the two of you. Kurama glanced back and while holding you with one arm, did several back flips, you holding on to him for dear life. Kurama landed, bringing his arm back to get a better grip on you. He stood there, with narrow eyes as he watched Genbu snicker and melt back into the stone floor once again.

"There he goes again!" shouted Yusuke.

"No fair, creepoid!" shouted Kuwabara.

"(YFN) is now trapped. If she tries to run back over here, then Genbu can easily attack her." stated Hiei calmly, yet his eyes showed a flicker of emotion, but only for a second.

‘Shit! I'm messing this series up!' you thought. 'Although...this isn't too bad. Lauren would be sooo jealous right now.�' You thought, remembering one of your closest friends who loved Kurama; not to mention Hiei.

You continued to hold on to Kurama, having your arms wrapped around his neck as you pressed your self against his chest; your face tucked under his chin. You were shaking a bit. However, in order to calm your self down, you made that comment in your head; however, it didn’t help since Genbu re appeared out from the floor, attacking from underneath the two of you.

Kurama had sensed Genbu beneath him and jumped up and out of the way as he tried to grab him and you.

"You won't win just by dodging, demon thief!!" shouted Genbu.

Kurama landed away from Genbu, landing on his knees.

"You have a point." said Kurama.

He closed his eyes and with a smile reached into his hair, still holding you to him in a tight embrace.

"It's time I gave as well as I got." He said, taking out a rose and opening his eyes that now had a twinkle in them.

"A rose?! Kurama, are you crazy?!" shouted Yusuke.

"This isn't just any rose..." said Kurama.

He whipped it out in front of him, creating a long whip, rose petals flying around the two of you.

”it's my rose whip!!"

Yusuke and Kuwabara looked dumbfounded.

"The room smells...nice. What’s going on?" asked Yusuke.

"Dare I say it...flower power?" said Kuwabara, not believing what he was seeing.

Still holding on to you, and you holding on for dear life to him, Kurama stands up and closes his eyes, waiting. All around the room came Genbu's voice.

"Heh heh...fool...How will you wield that whip against someone who can strike at you from anywhere, let alone holding that girl?"

"Guess we'll find out. Ready when you are." said Kurama.

You held on to him tighter, closing your eyes as you pressed your face against his body, your head tucked under his chin. Kurama gripped you tighter with his left arm, letting you know that he had you. You seemed to hold your breath as Kurama seemed to tense up, ready to attack. Kurama closed his eyes and held a firm grip to his rose whip.

"Interesting...�" Genbu said, before disappearing into the floor again. “I'll cut you to ribbons with one slash!!"

You tensed as you felt Genbu above the two of you, you tightened your grip. Kurama’s eyes snapped open as he turned his eyes to the ceiling, where Genbu was half way out of the ceiling.

"Ah! Up there!!" Kurama shouted, bringing his arm back.

"What?!" said a shocked Genbu. "How did you know?!"

"Now that the air's been purified by the scent of roses, it's easy to pinpoint your putrid stench." said Kurama.

"He's got him!!" shouted Hiei, a smirk on his face. "The thorns on that whip cut through steel like a hot knife through butter!"

"Thorn whip lash!" shouted Kurama.

His whip flew threw the air as it moved like a snake threw water, cutting up a screaming Genbu into rubble, which fell to the ground in a pile.

"Stellar! He dismembered Genbu with one whip crack!" shouted an excited, yet amazed Yusuke.

"That guy wasn't so tough after all!" said Kuwabara.

"You dolt. Kurama made it look easy, but you'd have been dead at Genbu's first strike." said Hiei, getting annoyed by Kuwabara's 'idiocy' or as what Hiei would have called Kuwabara's behavior.

"Why'd you keep torquein' me off every time you open your yap?!" said Kuwabara.

Kurama joined the group at this point. He looked down at you and smiled.

"You can let go now."

You slowly opened your eyes and looked up at Kurama.

You blushed, embarrassed for acting like a scaredie cat in front of the guys and for clinging to Kurama so tightly.

You jumped out of his arms and bowed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize that it was over. Oh and thank you for protecting me."

Kurama smiled.

"I should be the one to thank you for tending to my wounds." he bowed.

You blushed even harder at this.

'Man...what a guy.' you thought.

Kuwabara and Hiei didn't notice you or Kurama, since they were still arguing.

"Listen, I placed third in the competition to choose Master Genkai's successor!" shouted Kuwabara, hoping that this would show the little fire demon not to question his strength.

"I should care?" replied Hiei, not liking this human that had dared to challenge him every time he spoke.

"Knock it off you two." said Yusuke, who was more then a little annoyed by the two's antics.

"Yeah, you're fighting more then a married couple." you said.

They both gave you a death stare.

"I didn't mean anything by it...." you said, taking a step closer to Kurama, thinking it was a little safer.

"I agree with Yusuke, we still have to..." Kurama started, trying to take focus off you.

Kurama’s eyes narrowed.

"We're not done here." he said, looking over to where Genbu was.

"Huh?" said Yusuke.

You all turn and watched as Genbu put himself together.

"As you can see, I find being sliced to pieces no more then a moment's inconvenience." said Genbu, while putting his head on.

"Granite butt put himself back together! He's unkillable!!" said a horrified Kuwabara.

"Oh that's nothing watch this!" said Genbu, while looking at you.

"Exploding rock!! Come here little girl!" said Genbu, coming at you.

Kuwabara’s face paled.

“Oh shit� shouldn’t have said that�.” he said, taking a step backwards.

The others didn’t have to ask since they saw your entire body seem to shake. At first, they thought it was from fear; that is until they saw your eye twitch. You pulled out your rod, which miraculously didn’t fall out with all the jumping around you did with Kurama. You gripped it like a bat and took a batting stance as the rocks continued towards you.

"I am not a little girl you granite asshole!�' you shouted, hitting one of his hands, that flew towards you.

You hit a 'home run' sending Genbu's left hand back at the rock demon, however, the right one was close enough to grab you.

Kuwabara screamed.

"(YFN)!!"

Kuwabara out stretched his hand, ready to call forth his spirit sword.

However, Kurama jumped in front of the second hand and in a blink of an eye, sliced the hand into pieces, as well as the rest of Genbu.

"Wow (YFN)! You should play professional baseball with a hit like that!!�" Yusuke said shocked. “That pulverized 'im!"

"Nuthin but gravel now!" said Kuwabara, putting his hand down and commenting on what Kurama did.

You were still fuming.

"No on calls me a little girl!" you growl, huffing a bit with some smoke coming from your head.

Kuwabara and Yusuke took a few steps away from you, afraid of your wrath. Kurama noticed one of the rocks glowing as Genbu started to put himself back together again.

"Heh. Heh. As I said a mere inconvenience." Genbu laughed once he was back to his original shape.

"Even that didn't do it!! Kurama can't win!" said Yusuke.

"Ye of little faith" you said, remembering what happened next.

Yusuke raised an eyebrow at you.

"You bore me, twerp-die!! Exploding Rock!!" said Genbu, this time going after Kurama.

"Again?!" said Kurama.

Kurama ran into the attack, causing Yusuke and Kuwabara to gasp. Kurama held his ground, even as the rocks scraped against his skin. He shielded his head as he looked for the rock he had seen before. He used his rose whip, jumping into the air; quickly snatching something with out anyone noticing, before landing behind Genbu; who was once again cut down by Kurama’s rose whiplash attack. Kurama fell to his knees, worn out from that last attack.

Genbu laughed as he began to pull him self-together again.

"Still breathing, but clearly no fight left." Genbu said.

Kurama turned around and began to laugh.

"Ha Ha! Has fear snapped your mind?! Well, then, I'll put you out of your misery!" said Genbu.

Yusuke and Kuwabara stood blinking at Genbu, they weren’t sure if what they were seeing was right or not.

Genbu looked at Kurama, but found something not right.

"Guh?! He...he's upside down...?!" said Genbu.

Genbu looked down, but found he was looking up at himself, his body all jumbled up. Where his head was supposed to be, there was nothing; while his tail and arms were placed randomly on his upper body, the only part that was right were his legs. His head was where his lower region should have been.

"What's going on?!" Genbu shouted, confused.

Kuwabara and Yusuke start to laugh so hard, tears were coming to their eyes.

"I don't know...I think it’s a good look for him, don't you think?" you said, unable to contain your own laughter.

This made the two boys fall over on to the ground laughing even harder.

Hiei even smirked at your statement. Genbu didn't notice the laughing or your comment.

"Hyi! It's gone!! Where is it?!! Where's my--" Genbu started, searching for something that was suppose to be inside of him.

"Looking for this?" Kurama said, a smile on his face as he held a rock that had a pulsing to it.

"GAAH!" shouted Genbu.

"I figured this is your control core, the part that keeps all the pieces of your body organized. You made it look like any other pieces of you, but I saw the glint as it emitted energy. Part of my success as a thief, you see, is that I'm good at finding what's hidden." said Kurama. "Well, now..." Kurama tossed Genbu's 'heart' into the air.

"W-wait!! Don't hurt it!!" pleaded Genbu.

With one quick swipe of his rose whip, Kurama sliced it in half, shattering to pieces.

Genbu shook before crumbling to the ground, dead.

"You did it!! And just what he deserved!!" said Yusuke.

Kurama fell to one knee.

"Unh..."

"Kurama!!" shouted Yusuke, concerned.

You all run up to your fallen companion.

You kneel down and look at his wound. There didn't seem to be blood leaking through your 'bandage'.

"Genbu was a formable opponent. Kurama won't be able to go on..." said Hiei.

"No problem! Leave the rest to us!!" said Yusuke, with a huge grin on his face and pointing to himself.

"Yeah, I'll work the next creepoid over!" said Kuwabara.

"Want some help?" you asked.

Now that your adrenalin was pumping, you were hyped up and wanted some action.

"Nope. I'll do it." he said.

You all start walking up the stairs and down another long hallway.

"How ya doin' Kurama?" asked Yusuke, while looking at Kurama.

"Not bad. I'm still on my feet and thanks to (YFN)'s first aid, the bleeding has stopped." he smiled at you.

You blushed.

"It was no big deal. I would have done it for any of you. I know you'd do it for me." you said smiling at Kurama.

You glanced over at Kuwabara, who seemed to find the wall to be interesting.

'I wonder what's wrong with him? He hasn't said anything since we were all on the first level. May be he’s nervous about his fight?' you thought.

"Still, you won't be much good in a fight, though. Without you, the three of us will have to do with what's ahead." said Hiei.

"Hey!! I can fight too ya know! I was able to pin you, after all!" you shouted.

Everyone looked at you, even Kurama, in disbelief.

"YOU PINNED HIEI?!" said a shocked Yusuke.

"Yeah...but then he was sneaky and pinned me." you gave a teasing glare at him.

He looked away with an "Hmph."

"Whoa! Wait a minute, when did this happen?!" asked Kuwabara, who was now curious to when and where this so called 'pinning' took place.

"When you went to Genkai's; I was practicing my karate when Hiei comes in and just starts to...attack me, but it was because he wanted to spar...I think." you gave a wink at Hiei, just for the fun of it and to see Kuwabara’s reaction.

Unfortunately, Kuwabara missed the wink; however everyone else, including Hiei, saw it.

"Well, anyway," said Kuwabara, trying to change the subject, since he could feel the uneasiness that topic was creating. "Don't sweat about this next guy. I'll take 'im."

"Hah! You almost fainted at the site of the first guy!" said Yusuke.

"Shut up! I just wasn't ready! I wasn't sittin' around while you were off training with Master Genkai y'know. Through trial and error, I figured out how to conjure my spirit sword, using only my bare hands....see?" said Kuwabara, now holding his spirit sword in front of him.

"Not bad...Not quite the dead weight I took you for." said Hiei, actually impressed by Kuwabara's weapon.

"You want a taste of this?!" said Kuwabara, now in Hiei's face.

You sweat drop and let out a sigh.

"Get a grip, guy!" said Yusuke, with an annoyed look on his face.

Hiei not flinching.

Kuwabara backed off.

"Sure man. No sweat. My research didn't stop there, y'know. Check it out! SWORD EXTEND!" shouted Kuwabara while he points his sword towards the ceiling.

His sword grew longer and it took the form of a spear.

"Whoa!! From a sword to a spear!" said Yusuke.

"Heh heh--I can extend or retract it at will!" said Kuwabara, all proud and a huge grin on his face.

"I helped him with his techniques, even suggested he try this one." you said.

"Yeah, you did. Thanks again (YFN), you really were a big help." Kuwabara said, smiling at you.

You blushed a little at his compliment. He went back to his bragging.

"That first burser caught me off guard, but I'm ready for anything now. Bring it ON I say!!" said Kuwabara, all hyped up.

He turned from the group and put his hand to his head.

"Ummf...dizzy...slinging all that aura around..."

"Save any other tricks for the fight then!!" said Yusuke.

You all heard a terrible roar. Everyone just stood there.

"What? What was that? It sounds...otherworldly!" said Kuwabara, shaking a little both in his voice and in his stance.

You looked at him.

"Hello--we're in the DEMON PLANE! Of course it sounds 'other worldly'!" you said trying to ease up the tension you were feeling from everyone.

"I know that...it's just...�" Kuwabara started.

"We have no time for you two flirting! Let's go!!" Yusuke shouted.

You and Kuwabara blushed and glared at the running Yusuke.

"Shut up!!" you both said at the same time, and blushed again.

You both followed behind the rest of the group, who where now ahead of you.

You all came out of a tower like building and onto a bridge. In the middle of the bridge was an arena. It was a big circle and on the other side, blocking the entrance to the other part of the castle was a huge cat like creature.

He wore a Tarzan like outfit as he stood on the tower that was across from the rest of you. He had two huge fangs that stuck out from his lower jaw that stopped just under his eyes. He had a long mane that stopped at the mid of his back and was more like a tiger then anything these with the stripes that covered his body and his tail.

"That's Byakko, and by the sound of his roar, he's in a pretty foul mood." Kurama said.

Byakko glared at all of you.

"I can't believe I had to get off my butt to deal with pesky little fleas like you!! You defeated Genbu, but don't let that go to your heads. He was only an underling!" He said, his eyes narrowing at you all; his eyes becoming blood shot.

“He's enormous! A 10 footer at least!!" said Yusuke.

"This....wasn't the deal!!" said Kuwabara, shaking, slightly.

"Deal? There was no deal! We both came here since there was nothing better to do, remember?" you said, but your voice didn't sound as cocky as you wanted it to be.

Even watching him in the episodes, you were scared of him; not as much as elder Toguro, but he was close, and seeing him in person and feeling, his tremendous power really wasn’t helping you now.

"Shut up (YFN)!!!" said Kuwabara, his body visibly shaking a bit.

"Holden up here in this depressing castle, no succulent human flesh upon which to sup...it makes one quite irritable! Listen worms!! I gulp down human by the six-pack!! Little girls are my favorite to devour! Hiei!! Kurama!! I'll shred you and feed you to the rotten scamps!" Byakko said, ignoring you and Kuwabara.

"Urk! What a grating voice! Feels like it's gouging my inwards!" said Yusuke, taken aback from Byakko's words.

You could feel your right eye twitching.

"Did...he...just call...ME... a little....GIRL!!" you said.

"Don't sweat it (YFN)." said Kuwabara, putting his hand on your shoulder.

You turned and looked up at him.

"Well, I've had enough of his bull."

"Kuwabara!" said a shocked Yusuke, shocked that Kuwabara was actually serious about taking Byakko on.

"You're going to take him alone? I thought that was all talk." said Hiei.

Kuwabara turns to him.

"Duh! One-on-one! That's street fightin pal!!" said Kuwabara, his legs shaking.

"You're trembling from eagerness, then." said Yusuke, sarcastically.

Kuwabara faced the 'arena' and cracked his knuckles.

"What I say I'm gonna do, I do!" he said and started to walk towards the arena.

"You can't back out now, y'mean!" said a frustrated Yusuke.

"Nuts to you, Urameshi! Just watch!" said Kuwabara, turning his head to look at Yusuke, but still walking.

"Huh?! One human coming towards me--alone?! Hrnn....Heh...heh...heh...heh heh heh wah ha ha ha! Was this the spirit world's plan--to make me die laughing?!" said Byakko.

Kuwabara had reached the center of the arena. He looked up at Byakko and pointed at him.

"Cut that out! We'll see who laughs after you haul your tuckus down here!" shouted Kuwabara.

Byakko closed his eyes and moved his left paw to his hair.

"Heh heh...I'll pass. No need for me to put myself out." he said.

With two long nails, he plucks four strands of his hair.

"There you go!" he blew the strands in the air.

In front of all of your eyes, four beasts formed from those strands of hair and landed around Kuwabara.

"He turned his fur into--into these things?!" said Kuwabara, taking a step backwards.

"My doppelganger beasts! They'll slowly tear you to pieces! Even after death, you will regret your foolish attempt to confront me!!" said Byakko. Then one of the beasts lunged at Kuwabara.

"Yahh" Kuwabara dodged, but was slashed on each shoulder and under his left eye.

Kuwabara steadied himself and took his spirit sword out.

"You summon a reiki blade? Such impudence! That pitiful thing is useless against four beasts at once!!" shouted Byakko.

Two more beasts run at Kuwabara. Kuwabara swings his sword, but misses, being slashed on his front and back.

"I've never seen such pathetic sword skills. These beasts will nail him good in a matter of minutes." said Hiei.

"I taught him how to sword fight!" you said, not liking Hiei dising Kuwabara.

You turned towards the arena.

"Kuwabara...try using your double sword attack!!" you shouted.

Kuwabara heard you, but was being attacked by every angle.

"I'm kind of busy....at the moment!!" He shouted.

"Baka! Want me to come out and help?" you said.

"Kuwabara!! Switch off with me!! My shotgun blasts better for taking out multiple targets! You're an infighter! You're not made for this!!" Yusuke shouted.

You glare at Yusuke.

"And what? I can't help him?" your eyes were twitching again.

Yuskue took a few steps away from you, laughing and scratching the back of his head.

“No, of course not�, its just my weapon is better for this kinda fighting.�" Yusuke said, trying to dispel your wrath.

"Hahaha...don't be so polite. Why don't you all jump in at once? You runts shouldn't have tried to fight me in the first place!" Byakko said.

"Stay put guys!! I ain't taggin out, nor teaming up until fuzzy fangs faces me himself! You hear me, Urameshi?! (YFN)?! Try anything and I'll kill you first!" Kuwabara shouted.

"Oh yeah?! I want to see you try!" you shout back. "See if I ever help him, again." you said, folding your arms across your chest.

Yusuke and Kurama couldn't help but smirk at your comment, while Hiei's smirk disappeared as fast as it appeared.

"Still haven't learned your lesson, eh? Beasts, rip off his limbs one by one! Leave me his torso and head for my supper!!" shouted Byakko.

Kuwabara's eyes widened and he made a sound that sounded like he was disgusted and scared at the same time.

"Yipes! Bad doggie! These arms are freshly healed! I ain't losin' em now!" said Kuwabara, poorly dodging the beasts.

Beast after beast jumped towards Kuwabara. Kuwabara moved, but it was never fast enough as some of his shirt would be ripped from the claws and teeth of the beasts. You watched Kuwabara struggle to keep himself from being killed. You couldn’t stand to watch, and turned a glare towards Byakko, who gave you a chilling smile as he licked his lips. You shuttered at the site and clenched your fists.

"Kuwabara! Don't be a jackass! Switch with me! Your sword's just not enough to take these things out!! Kuwabara!!" shouted Yusuke.

Kuwabara turned and looked at Yusuke.

"Hey! I just got an idea!" he shouted and started to run over the narrow bridge that lead back to the rest of you.

"Eh? Haha! Lost your nerve?! Flee back to your companions, then! But it's no use!! The beasts will devour you all!!" shouted an excited Byakko.

Kuwabara’s face was full of fear, as he ran.

"Run run run!" you could hear him say.

Once he got to the other side, he turned around and facing the four beasts, which were all on the bridge.

"Nerve? You wanna see nerve?!" Kuwabara said.

Everyone, except for you, gasped. You smiled an all-knowing smile.

'Here it comes.' you thought.

"Sword grow!!!" shouted Kuwabara.

His sword went through each of the monster's mouth and out their butts.

"What?!" said a surprised Byakko.

"Hah! They fell for it! I lured your pets over this narrow bridge just so I could skewer them!" shouted a proud Kuwabara.

"Smart boy! But that hardly amounts to a deathblow! And look! They're still hungry!" shouted Byakko.

Kuwabara looked at the beasts and found that they were devouring his spirit staff, heading towards his hands. Kuwabara yelped as he turned and ran to the building, the four beasts on his heels. You and the others jumped back out of the way of the ‘train�' and watched as the end of Kuwabara’s spirit spear turned into a grappling hook, catching onto a lose brick that was sticking from the tower. Kuwabara ran until he came to the hook and with speed that was impressive for even Hiei, tied his spirit spear end to end, trapping the beasts in a circle around the tower.

"There! How's that?! Hah! Monster beastie shish-kebabs on the hoof!" said a proud Kuwabara.

"Not a very palatable dish, but I'll take it." said an amazed Yusuke.

"That goes for me." you said, with a wide grin on your face.

"He fused reiki end to end. That's absurd." said Hiei.

He couldn’t believe what he saw; not even thinking it was even possible to do what he just witnessed. Kurama looked a bit surprised but chuckled, finding it fitting, not only the name but what Kuwabara did; reminded him of how Yusuke was; spontaneous.

"NYYYAAARRRR! Heh...you should've let the beasts kill you human!!" said a pissed off Byakko.

"C'mon, whatchoo really got?! Haul your butt down here, fur ball! It's your turn!" said Kuwabara, while pointing at Byakko.

"Now you've made me very, very mad!!" said an obviously pissed off Byakko.

"I'm so scared...not! You're going to get it now fur butt!" you said, all hyped up from what just happened.

"So much for the opener! Your beasts are all tied up! Your turn, pussy cat!!" said Kuwabara.

Byakko’s fists slammed down and broke off a huge piece of the tower he was standing on, his eyes blood shot and filled with anger.

"You've pushed your luck too far, whelp!! Fine—I’ll come down and kill you myself!!"

Kuwabara had walked back into the arena.

"Knock off the comic book posturing! Hop down here and let's get it on!" shouted an anxious Kuwabara.

"Brat." said Byakko, as he hopped down.

He landed several feet from Kuwabara, causing him to jump from not only the floor shaking from Byakko’s landing but from the height of the beast.

"Yoicks!" Kuwabara gulped.

"I'll warn you right now that your reiki sword is useless!! If that's your only weapon of real power, you don't stand a 100-to-1 chance against me!!" said Byakko.

"Oh yeah?" said Kuwabara, taking out his spirit sword. "Have a taste of it..." he jumped towards Byakko, raising his sword to strike. �E..and we'll see how useless it is!!" shouted Kuwabara, as he sliced Byakko.

Kuwabara landed behind Byakko, and turned a glance behind him with a snicker. Byakko roared as he turned, bring his fists down towards Kuwabara. Kuwabara jumped into the air, missing the ground crushing attack Byakko made and brought his sword down on Byakko.

Kuwabara dodged a punch thrown by Byakko and leaned in, slashing the beast across the stomach.

"Excellent! Kuwabara's on the offensive! Size doesn't matter to him in a straight one-on-one!" shouted Yusuke.

Byakko raised his claws, but Kuwabara took the opportunity where Byakko’s body was opened and slashed down again, before jumping back and away from another swipe of Byakko’s claws.

You look grim at the scene before you.

"It’s not working�E you said.

They all look at you.

"Are you watching the same fight?! Kuwabara's making the most hits!" shouted Yusuke.

"Look again." you said.

They all look at the two fighting.

"Something's wrong...."Kurama said, noticing something wrong with the scene.

Kuwabara jumped back, sweat pouring down his face as his body shakes. His breaths coming out ragged.

"Yeah." Hiei said, noticing it too. "Look at them—their faces. Kuwabara may be scoring all the hits, but...he's the one who's wearing out!!" said Hiei.

"Like I said he needs a new strategy if he wants to win this." you said.

"I get it now!! Take a look at the sword!!" Kurama shouted.

"My sword?!" said Kuwabara, obviously paying attention to the conversation that is taking place behind him.

He looked at his sword, which looked more like a dagger.

"It's shrunk!�" shouted Kurama." Byakko is sucking up Kuwabara's aura!! And adding it to his own!! He's draining Kuwabara dry!!"

Kuwabara’s eyes widened before turning back to his opponent who started to laugh.

"Ha ha! My secret's out! So what? Will you fight me with your bare hands?!" said Byakko.

"Not hardly!!" shouted Kuwabara, making his sword grow bigger.

Kuwabara screamed as he charged towards Byakko.

"Don't do it Kuwabara!! It will only make him bigger!!" shouted Yusuke.

You put your hand on his shoulder.

He turned around.

"(YFN)?" he said, confused.

"He knows what he's doing. You gotta have faith in him, like I do." you said, smiling.

Yusuke just looked at you.

"How can you just stand by and watch him get the life sucked out of him?!" said Yusuke.

At that moment, Kuwabara had put his sword in Byakko's mouth. Kuwabara's whole body turned gold and he was in the air screaming in pain. Byakko was obviously sucking his aura out of his sword. After a few moments, Kuwabara's sword disappeared and he landed at Byakko's feet.

"Burrpp....!" came from Byakko.

Kuwabara struggled onto his knees. He shook his head, seeming to clear it before stumbling to his feet and calling forth his spirit sword again, however it was a mere dagger.

"Unh....Not done..." Kuwabara breathed out.

"Cripes!! His sword...it's shrunk to a dagger!!" shouted Yusuke.

"I can't believe you're not worried! What a friend you are!!" said Yusuke, shouting at you.

You slapped him upside the head.

"At least I have faith in him, unlike a baka spirit detective I know!" you shouted back.

Yusuke growled and rubbed the back of his head.

“Why does everyone like to hit me in the back of my head?!�

"You're wobbly, boy...heh heh! Your real ordeal will now begin!" said Byakko.

Byakko slams his fist into Kuwabara’s face, sending him backwards and skidding on the ground, his spirit dagger dispelling.

"Now for a dose of slow torture!" said Byakko.

Kuwabara started coughing up blood, as he got onto his knees.

"Heh heh...I could use some after dinner exercise. After that, you body will make a nice dessert." said Byakko.

"His aura's gone! He can't fight!! That idiot's really gonna get his ticket punched this time!!" said Yusuke, scared for Kuwabara's life.

"No! He has one option! Byakko hasn't grown at all. If Kuwabara noticed this well...it might amount to suicide, but it’s his last resort! If he doesn't pull this off, he is doomed!" said Kurama.

"Don't worry...he knows what he has to do." You said, causing them all to look at you. "Just watch, you'll see why I put my trust in him. He's not as dumb as you think him to be." you said, glaring first at Yusuke, and then at Hiei.

They both glare back at you, and then turn to watch the fight.

"Funny...after he consumed my aura, he didn't actually grow. He...bloated. Could it be.....? Whoa no time to think. Just gotta take the gamble." mumbled Kuwabara.

"What are you mumbling about? Have you given up and gone into your swan song? I'll see to it that it doesn't go to waste!! Die!!" said Byakko, getting ready for the final blow.

Kuwabara wobbled to his feet, stumbling a bit as he out stretched his hand, his spirit sword re-appearing in his hand.

"You're getting all I've got!!" he said.

"Huh?!" Byakko said, with a raised eyebrow.

"You want it?! You got it!!" said Kuwabara, rushing towards Byakko with a roar before lunging his sword into Byakko’s stomach.

"Are you crazy?! Why are you giving him what he wants?!" shouted Yusuke.

Kuwabara screamed as he could fell his energy is sucked out of him. He closed his eyes before his sword flickered before vanishing. Kuwabara took a step backwards, his eyes open. They rolled in the back of his head before falling to his knees and collapsing in front of a very fat looking Byakko.

You wanted to scream out towards Kuwabara, but you reminded your self that he was all right, and just clenched your hands into fists, causing your nails to dig into your palms.

"Heh heh heh. Burrrp. You are crazy. Can't fathom why you'd let me have the last of your aura! I'll tenderize him with a few good stomps." said Byakko, raising his right foot.

"Kuwabara?!" shouted Yusuke.

'Here it comes.' you thought.

"Starting with you head!!" said Byakko, bring his foot down.

"Stop!! Now!! Or I'll kill you!!" shouted Yusuke, who was about to get in there, looking like he wanted a piece of Byakko.

Kurama put his arm in front of Yusuke.

"Wait!! See?! It's starting to happen!!" said Kurama.

"Huh?" said a confused Yusuke.

You gave a relieved sigh and smiled, letting your hands relax.

Byakko stopped with his foot in mid air.

"Gug! What?!" said Byakko, his stomach moving violently.

Kuwabara stirred, before getting on his knees with a grin on his face.

"Heh...just as I thought."

"Kuwabara!! He wasn't down, just out for a second!" shouted a happy Yusuke.

Kuwabara shakily stood up.

"Bit of a glutton, ain't ya, puss-puss? Scarfin' up all that crude, human flavored aura." said Kuwabara, grinning.

Smoke started to build up around Byakko as the energy he absorbed began to become too much for him. Byakko’s eyes widened as a hole opened up in his stomach.

"Guurk?!" was the last thing that Byakko said before he flew off into the sky like a busted balloon.

"Byakko wasn't expecting to get so much aura out of Kuwabara! It gave him colic." said a smiling Kurama, also a relieved.

You looked up at the 'Byakko balloon.'

"Ha ha ha! Worst case of gas I ever saw! What a moron!" laughed Yusuke.

"Tain't funny Urameshi. I almost bought it. Gotta reabsorb as much of my aura as I can." said a concentrating Kuwabara.

"Man check out the fire works!! Scratch another monster!!" said Yusuke, as he watched Byakko crash into the building on the other side of the bridge.

You all ran up to Kuwabara.

"I never doubted you!" you turned to the rest of the group. "And I can't believe you didn't trust me! I know him better then any of you! I do live with him after all!" you shouted.

Hiei and Kurama look at you in disbelief.

"You mean you live with the idiot here." said a dumbfounded Hiei.

"He's not an idiot, and yes I do live with him. It was his room that we had that match in." you said.

However you realized what you said and sweat dropped while you had a small ‘oops�' smile on your face.

"Whoa, wait a minute! That happened in my room?!" said Kuwabara, not believing what he was hearing.

"Well....yeah, where else could it have happened?" you asked giving him a face that seemed a bit too innocent.

Before he could answer, there was a roar heard.

"Uh-oh!! Look!!" said Kurama pointing over at where Byakko landed.

Byakko stood looking royally pissed off as he glared daggers at all of you. You wanted to mentally kick your self for forgetting that he wasn’t defeated right away.

"Is he immortal?" said Yusuke.

"I'll admit I'm impressed. Your tactics were effective. To show my respect, I'll lead you to my chamber...to the room from hell!!" said Byakko, glaring evilly at Kuwabara.

Byakko snorted before turning and disappearing into the darkness, leading the way to his lair.
