A/N: So hey ^_^ Yes I know I put this on hold but good news! I made an out line (up to chapter 20 believe it or not o.o ) So I'm taking this story off the on hold! So this chapter is short but I promise this will be getting back on track! Thank you all for being patient as you were with this story and I hope you enjoy this new chapter!
Chapter 9: Escape!
A groan came from his lips. Everything was a blur as he could feel himself slowly stir awake. His entire body felt as if it went through hell and back twice. His eyes slowly opened up and he slowly sat up.
Hiei found himself sitting in a nice comfy bed. His chest was bandaged up and his head felt like he had a hangover.
“How are you feeling?”
Hiei's eyes snapped over towards the voice. There sat in a chair the traitor, that red headed traitor. He snarled at the red head, who put his hands up and had a small sweat drop on his head.
“I guess you're alright?” he said with a small chuckle.
“What the hell are you doing here fox and where am I?” growled Hiei looking around.
He seemed to be in a cell. He narrowed his eyes as he realized he was in Spirit World, but in their so called cell.
“Well, I'm sure you know where you are.” Kurama said.
“Where is Kuwabara?” Hiei asked, realization falling on him.
“He is safe.” Kurama said with a smile.
The smile made Hiei feel sick inside. He didn't understand what the red head's fascination with HIS human was, but he didn't like it.
Hiei snorted and closed his eyes. He tried to connect to Kuwabara through their link, however he found that it was being blocked by the cell he was in. Hiei growled as he opened his eyes.
“Why are you here anyway?” Hiei growled, sitting fully up and glaring at Kurama.
“Can't I check on an old friend?” Kurama asked with an innocent and hurt looking face.
“Cut the crap Kurama.” Hiei snorted.
“Alright. I'm here to try and get you out of here. I suggested to Koenma that you and I could help pay our debts to Spirit World by working for him for a little while.” Kurama said.
Hiei snorted and folded his arms across his chest.
“And why would I do that?”
“If you want to see Kuwabara or even see the light of day again for that matter...” Kurama said.
The sentence made the fire demon stiffen.
“How do I know he's really safe?” Hiei said with narrowed eyes.
“Why do you care? Wasn't he an expendable piece in your plain?” Kurama asked with a serious look.
“My business is none of your concern and what my reasons I have to have that human is ALSO none of your concern. Why are you so fixtated on him anyway? Why do you care?” Hiei asked with a snarl.
Kurama looked at the fire demon with a serious face. He himself really didn't know himself. He just seemed to find himself attracted to the human. Not in a romantic way, not at all. He found him more in the little brother category. He thought it was not fair to hold the young teen against his will, missing out on his child hood and not even being able to enjoy growing up like a normal human child. Or even able to enjoy living with his family. No, Kurama did not like how Hiei treated the young boy.
“I feel like you are not being fair to Kuwabara-kun's feeling.” Kurama said.
Hiei just sat there and stared dumbfoundly at the kitsune. He shook his head and snorted.
“He could have left me whenever he wanted.” Hiei snorted.
He knew that was only half true. He had kept the young man for so long that he knew at this point the human wouldn't leave him until his objective was done. Kuwabara was such an honorable man and even tho Hiei wouldn't admit it; it was one of the qualities that he loved about the human. He shook his head at the thought of that word. Love. He couldn't think like that cause that word causes too much trouble.
“Bullshit.” Kurama said, which caused Hiei's eyes to widened.
Kurama's stern glare made Hiei feel a little afraid. He knew it was better to join up with the kitsune than to be against him, so he knew the danger this red head could be.
“You are selfish. And what happens if you do find your sister? Would you be willing to let him go? Or will you find another way to keep him as your slave?” Kurama asked with narrowed eyes.
Hiei could feel a pain in his heart at the thought of not having Kuwabara next to him. He had the young man along side him for so long that he couldn't even think about how he could go on with out the young man not there. However, Hiei felt another pain. This time in was in his head. Hiei blinked as the pain was starting to grow stronger. It took him a few moments before he realized that there was still a link between himself and Kuwabara. However, it seemed that Kuwabara was in pain which usually meant he was in danger.
Fear quickly went across his face. However, Kurama thought he had hit a nerve about Hiei loosing Kuwabara.
“You think you can handle giving up a human with such potential, just like that?” Kurama continued, thinking he was going to get to Hiei and find out the REAL reason Hiei kept a hold onto the human boy.
However, Hiei stood up and turned red from anger.
“Fuck you.”
Kurama blinked at the angry fire demon.
“Wh..?” Kurama said surprised by his response.
“He's in danger. I don't care what happens and when I find my sister, we'll see what happens. It will be his choice. But right now, he is in pain. I can feel it through my link.” Hiei said, touching the wrist band that connected him to Kuwabara.
Kurama blinked at him, not sure what else to say. However, Hiei outstretched his hand and blew open the door to his cell. The alarm began to go off and with a quick glare at Kurama he rushed out of his cell, running to a room that had his katanna and then escaping the Spirit World for a second time.
