Disclaimer: I do not own YuYu Hakusho, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
Disclaimer: Yu Yu Hakusho belongs to Togashi-san and whatever companies he works with or for. The show, the manga and any of its characters do not belong to me, I am merely borrowing them for the pleasure of creating a fanfiction. Please do not sue, I am poor. Warning: No actual graphic sex yet but may have that in the future, and if m/m pairings aren't already implied or shown they may eventually be shown. Will any of this be graphic? I don't know yet, but it's possible. As with all my fanfiction writings, I consider it alternate universe or at least non-cannon. Why? Because that's what I tend toward writing. Have I missed anything? Oh yes, this first part is more or less PG, though there are vague hints that sexual acts do occur. Eventually the story may get more graphic, if this bothers you or if you are not of age to read such materials, I would please ask that you don't read it then. Constructive feedback is always welcomed and flamers I will throw to the tender mercies of my mother's relatives. If you don't think that's a warning, I feel sorry for you.
Author: Shadowfox13 aka Carol D. Crystal Pure Prologue: Asara, Queen of the Snow people, gazed into the foggy depths of the crystal atsushakal*. "He is there somewhere, I just know it!" She hissed. Her memories danced through her mind like an invisible movie. ~~~~~~ Beginning of Flashback ~~~~~ A young Asara rode her snow steed across the snow-blanketed land, on a journey like all young Snow Elves. She'd been away from home for more than 10 years and had yet to see the rest of the Makai past her kingdom¡¦s borders. Although they remained as isolated as another ice species called Koroomie, they were far different from them. They had both genders amongst their people and no aversion to crossbreeding, although their kingdom was huge and located in one of the less known areas of Makai, they remained isolated. The only ones who did visit were usually beings from their closest neighbors, a place with many different clans of cat demons and shapeshifters. On rare occasions in their history, an odd human or two managed to find their way into the kingdom by accident - though due to the type of climate in that part of the makai, they usually did not survived long. Asara's thoughts drifted as her steed continued his plodding course. What was the rest of the Makai like? What were the cities of the human world, that she heard about growing up, like? Her journey thus far had been rather disappointingly uneventful. Thoughts swirled timelessly in her mind when she suddenly noticed a sudden flare in Ki not far from where she was. The signature energy was human. She urged her companion into a full run heading for the source of the signature. A young human male, around the age of eighteen or nineteen, shivered inside one of the many caves that riddled the kingdom. By the looks of the dragging tracks in the snow, he managed to drag himself inside the cave although he was no longer conscious. His hair was a deep crimson, which stood out against the white of the land and while blue-tinted from the cold, the milky fair complexion was obvious. She wondered if he ever saw sunlight or if any attempts would burn him. She got out one of her magically insulated fur coats, one of the gifts from the leader of one of the cat clans. She had no use for it since the cold did not bother her, but turning down the gift , would be an insult to the clan leader. She'd often wondered why he would give her something seemingly completely useless; now it seemed, fate had provided the answer to that question. Perhaps the leader had been a seer as well. She wrapped the unconscious young man into the garment and busied herself setting up a campsite. Soon the magical ice flames of her campfire blazed merrily and she had a warm nourishing stew simmering. Visiting dignitaries from the nearby clans seemed to like it, she could only hope the human was able to eat is since her people normally did not eat warmed food. For all that the demons of the cat clans were great hunters, they still preferred their food cooked. She was fairly sure the plants she picked and prepared were safe for humans, hoping he did not require meat since she like most of her people did not hunt or consume flesh. A faint groan from her companion alerted her to the fact that he was regaining consciousness, startling her. At least now she wouldn't have to try and drip the stew into his mouth. "Where am I?" He whispered hoarsely. "Am I dead?¨ His voice was deep and velvety and his eyes were a beautiful bright golden hazel. It reminded her of a snow lion or one of the golden hot springs further up toward the northern range of one of the mountains that surrounded her kingdom. Many visitors housed their for their visit enjoyed soaking in them, though she and most of her people did not use them. She gave a sigh. "No, this is Estral, the kingdom of the Snow people or Thelarian in our language and you are alive, though I have to say that you are lucky to be so.¨ She gazed at this beautiful human youth," Do you know how you got here?¨ She asked. He closed his eyes in thought, "Well, I was tracking down a demon fugitive for Koenma, managed to find him to but, the demon did something and well, the next thing I knew is I woke up here." "What is your name?" She asked him, truly curious now. Blinking, the man answered, "Eienosuke Kuwabera, a human in service of Koenma as a spirit detective." He stated. Her eyes widened, "Oh, you are far from home aren't you? Do you have any family?" He nodded. "Yes, a twin sister, Etsuyo, who is also a spirit detective, a wife Kyari and our children." He had children waiting for him at his home. She nodded solemnly, understanding what she must do. "If it is in my power to return you, I will." she pledged. They traveled together, searching for a way to return him safely. She even returned to her home with him at one point, to see what kind of information she could find on building a portal to return him back to his world. Two years passed, and it seemed as if the ability to return him home remained out of reach. No word reached them there that Koenma had sent out a rescue party. Another unsolved mystery. The bond between them deepened as well. One evening after yet another failure and dead end, he cried on her shoulder. He was beginning to loose hope of seeing his family again. Under the full blood red moon of the makai, in the bower attached to her room, she held him closely, comforting him, loving him. In the garden below, snow roses bloomed, the milky red light giving them the illusion of bleeding. They never spoke of that night but it remained between them unbreakable and silent. Eventually she found the right formula for a portal back to his world that would be undetected when opened. By then, the cold harsh climate had taken its toll on his human body. Asara went to tell Eienosuke the good news only to find him in bed, feverish. She listened to his fevered mutterings. "Kyari, I am so sorry. Please Kyari I hope that you will understand, I did not mean to be unfaithful. I love you so much but I've grown to love Asara too. I am sorry Asara, I'm so sorry" He moaned unaware of his guest. She murmured, "it's ok love, I know. Our worlds are different but that does not mean that love, friendship loyalty, and honor are unknown here. I love you too, that is why I am keeping my promise. You are going home." He weakly opened his eyes and took a ragged breath "Asara, I..." She put a gentle finger to his lips, "Shh, it's ok.¨ She softly assured as she hugged him tightly, despairing of his current health. She kissed him tenderly, holding him, wanting just a brief moment. He gazed at her with a loving smile and died quietly in her arms. True to her word she sent him back, his body in a fancy casket made of eternal ice crystal*, with his soul safely guarded in a soul crystal which she placed around his neck hoping that someone in the spirit world would retrieve it so that he could be reborn. She placed a message sphere in there as well addressed to his twin with all details, from first meeting until this moment. With a last kiss, she got Einosuke ready for his last journey home. "Until we meet again my love." She murmured activating the teleport spell and hoping she had gotten the correct coordinates. His last gift to her had been the children, two sets of twins, she carried, a fact she did not find out about for several weeks. ~~~~ End of Flashback ~~~~ Enough time passed, two centuries in fact. She even managed, through her loose connection of resources she managed to build, to confirm that his body, had gotten home safely, and his soul retrieved. "I'm sure he's been reborn by now!" She muttered. "Einosuke, who are you now?" The fog cleared and the face of Kazuma Kuawbara appeared with his bright orange hair. Most definitely not as beautiful as his prior life but his kind soul still shone through. It was definitely her love. Two lonely centuries had passed and she was determined that they would be together, before he found another true love in this life. "Chito, I have found what I was looking for please get my things ready." She commanded. "Yes, my queen." Bowing low, the servant backed out of the room. The children were away, each of them handling one of the vast regions of their kingdom that she entrusted to each of them. She would have to leave them a message and instructions for the time that she was gone. Notes: crystal atsushakal - looks like an antique heirloom floor length mirror surrounded by a fancy crystal frame but where the mirror part should be it's like those sterotypical crytal balls that have the eternally foggy interior. eternal ice crystal - A magical ice substance that won't melt with regular flames or heat (so no matter how hot it got in the human world the casket won't melt .While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
