9/7/2022 BIG AUTHOR NOTE: I HAVE DELETED MOST OF THE CHAPTERS OF THIS STORY. THE TWO CHAPTERS THAT ARE STILL UP HAS ALREADY BEEN REVISED. I WILL REPOST THE REST OF THE CHAPTERS AS I REVISE THEM. THANK YOU FOR READING.^_^
Oh man, the memories I have of writing this. It’s been so long, so many years. I revised a lot in this chapter. When I first wrote it, this chapter was mostly in first person, but all that has been changed now. I much better like writing in third person. Also in this version I took out a lot of American stuff and put in more Asian, such as instead of forks I put in chopsticks, things like that. More Tags may be added as the story progresses. I hope you enjoy, thank you for reading.

Thoughts
(Revised)
2nd Story in My Love’s Destiny Arc
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Kurama walked into his apartment and headed straight towards the bathroom. Stray thoughts entered his exhausted mind as he wondered through the living room, worried about leaving a trail of blood on his black carpet. He was covered in blood and dirt, a lot of it his own. He had many cuts on his body, but they weren't too serious in nature, nothing his demon energy couldn't heal in a couple of days. He peeled off his filthy clothes and stepped into the shower, hitting the hot water. Kurama jumped a little when the cold water hit his fatigued body, but it quickly warmed up, steam filling the bathroom. He put his head against the tiled wall, letting out a tired breath as the water ran over his sore muscles.
The images of the horrible fight were still replaying in his mind. Koenma found out about a high-class demon that was killing humans and taking their souls. Of course, he sent the spirit detective group out without having all the facts. When they got there, it wasn't just a high-class demon it was an S class demon. He was ruthless, cunning, and to top it all off powerful. They really were no match for him.
It was a bloody battle from start to finish. They finally got the upper hand when Hiei took a drastic gamble. It had the desired effect, giving Yusuke the chance to fire his spirit gun at the startled demon. In the end, the creature fell, but not without causing serious injuries to the team members.
Kurama was brought back to the present when the water turned cold. He silently cursed himself for not realizing how long he had been in there. He quickly washed up, not wanting to be under the cold spray longer then he had too. He did however, take enough time to make sure his cuts were clean. Turning off the water, he stepped out of the shower and grabbed one of his fluffy red towels.
He would never hear the end of it if the rest of the team ever found out he had a thing for red. He loved the color. That was why he chose the rose as his favorite weapon. He had many of vicious weapons at his disposal, but the rose always came out on top. He loved the scent too. It had helped defeat the saint beast he was up against 4 years ago.
In addition, the whip did have its advantages. The top one being you could strike an opponent with out having to get close to it. His favorite had to be all the rose petals it admitted when it transformed. He liked that most because they were red, but it did distract the enemy for a bit so they didn't know what had hit them until it was too late.
Coming out of the bathroom, Kurama dried off as he went over to his dresser. Draping the towel over his shoulder, he slid opened a drawer and selected a pair of boxers. He slipped them on and returned to the bathroom to get some bandages. The red head walked back out, carrying his supplies straight to the bed. He sat down heavily, dropping the white rolls and tape onto the deep red blanket beside him. He pulled the towel off his shoulder and set to work removing the excess water from his long red hair.
When Kurama was satisfied with his hair, he threw the towel towards the bathroom and turned to the bandages beside him. After a swift inspection of his wounds, he was sure they would be okay if he used the human antibiotic instead of a plant concoction. He was already short on his energy and didn't want to waste anymore then he had too. He quickly bandaged all his wounds except one. The one he couldn't reach was on his lower back, but it didn't seem too bad when he touched it. He shrugged his shoulders, figuring it would be alright before picking up the supplies and taking them back to the bathroom.
Practically falling into the bed, the fox pulled his black sheet and red blanket up to his waist. He let out a tired breath, trying to will his body to relax so sleep could claim him. Against his will, his mind wondered again to the recent battle and the little stubborn demon.
They all had their share of injuries, but Hiei's was the worst. He had taken the demon's swords head on and paid dearly. He had deep, gaping cuts on his legs and arms. There was one across his chest too, but it wasn't as bad as the others. He was bleeding badly by the time the battle was over; he had even collapsed to the ground. They had all ran over to see about him as he tried to get up.
The fox remembered reaching out and putting his hand on the fire demon’s arm, trying to help, but he was harshly shoved away. After Hiei got to his feet, he glared at him a few moments before turning and hobbling away without a word. Yusuke and Kuwabara looked to Kurama for answers, but he had none. He couldn't tell them that Hiei was this way because of one faithful night a few months ago.
Hiei had come to his apartment like he usually did when he got cold, it rained, or he just wanted to talk. They had shared the fox’s queen size bed, like they always did. There was nothing sexual about it. Although the redhead admitted at least to himself that he often thought of a possible relationship with Hiei. He also knew at the same time that it was so very highly unlikely.
Demons for the most part went with a same sex partner for a lover, that is unless they wanted to produce offspring. Even after they got what they wanted, they usually went on their way with out a look back. Demons did mate for life on occasion, but it was rare. They preferred to stay unclaimed so they could move on when they so choose.
Kurama knew he was no different in his former life. He took what he wanted and never looked back. He had many lovers most male and some female, but he was always the dominate one. No one ever topped him, it simply was not allowed. As far as he knew, no offspring ever came from any of the flings. He took precautions to see to that with a certain plant concoction that he would give the female while she slept. He never wanted any children it just wasn't him. He wanted to be free of anything that held him down or tied him to one place. Now in this life, things have changed. He liked the security of being in one place, having a mother, and having friends.
He also has never taken a lover in this form, male or female, not that there weren't any chances. He is hit on daily by both sexes, it's just that he thought it was time for a change. He wanted something more now, then one night stands. He wanted a true relationship. He actually wanted to settle down. He wanted a mate. This of course, brings him back to his present problem, Hiei.
Since Kurama first encountered him and then partnered with him, he has wanted him. Somewhere along the way, want turned into love. He knew it was crazy. Youko Kurama feared, ruthless, and the King Of Thieves falling very hard for the only demon he couldn't have or wouldn’t desire him, the forbidden one. It would be a big laugh back in the Makai if anyone found out, so he has kept his feelings a secret from everyone including said fire demon.
If Hiei found out, at the least he would probably send a nasty glare at the fox before commenting rudely, and then flitting away with out so much as a look back never to be seen again; at the worst the redhead would be dodging a deadly attack. Mostly Kurama was just afraid of getting his heart broken and he really didn’t want that to happen, even if he deserved it from his former life, so he kept his secret. Sometimes it was still hard to believe though it was his own feelings, that he had fell in love with Hiei, bad attitude and all. Now, the fox honestly didn’t know how to handle his feelings for Hiei or how to personally deal with him.
The night everything changed between them, Kurama woke up to his shirt at his shoulders and Hiei’s hand ghosting over his bare back. He was laying on his stomach with his face turned away from him. He was stunned to say the least. He never expected the shorter demon to touch him so willingly, almost intimately. Before he could catch himself, he turned his head to look at the fire demon and without thinking spoke, 'What are you doing?’.
A look of shock crossed Hiei’s face with what seemed like maybe fear in his eyes. He had quickly snatched his hand away. They stared at each other, both of them unsure of what to say or do. Kurama made the second mistake of the night by reaching out and touching his arm. This brought Hiei out of his daze. He jumped off the bed, quickly retrieving his black cape and katana. He looked over his shoulder at the redhead one last time before jumping out the window. By the time Kurama made it to the window, Hiei was gone from sight. The final mistake Kurama made that night was not going after him, to let him know he was not angry or anything else, that he actually welcomed his touch.
Now three months later Hiei hasn't been back. Kurama only sees him when they have missions together and then the fire demon won’t hardly say two words to him. They used to fight back to back. They always had each other covered. Now, Hiei wouldn’t come within ten feet of the fox. It was beginning to tear at Kurama’s emotions that he couldn't figure out how to fix the situation between them, much less know what it was all about. Best guess Kurama could come up with is Hiei could think he did something wrong or something to offend him. He wished he could get the fire demon alone so he could talk to him. He just knew he could maybe get him to open up a little bit.

Hiei was sitting in a tree on the outskirts of the city contemplating his options. His arm was still bleeding, as was one of his legs. He hadn't the energy to stop the flow of blood so he was doing the last resort, licking the blood off his arm. He knew if it didn't stop soon, he was going to be in real trouble.
Contemplating his choices, he could go to Genkai's to see if Yukina was there, maybe she could heal him. That was sort of the last resort though, he didn’t want to run the chance of her finding out that he was her brother. Genkai was another choice he could go to, but again Yukina could be there.
He could see if he can find Botan. Her healing skills wasn’t that great though it would most likely be enough to stop the bleeding. He dismissed her though, the girl was a bit ditzy and all she talked about lately was Koenma. The grim reaper and the Jr. god of the Reikai had been together for about a year. He sure didn’t want to hear about her love life when he had none.
Then there were Yusuke and Kuwabara, but he didn’t think they would be much help at all. They would tease him mercilessly to the point that he would be ready to kill them and all they could really do was bandage his wounds, not stop the bleeding. This of course, only leaves the fox as his last choice. Kurama would use some kind of plant potion on him that he knew would help, then clean the wounds, and bandage him up. However, did Hiei want to see him? Technically Kurama hadn’t done anything to him, it was quite the other way around and that was why he was hesitating so much to get the help he needed. He didn’t want the redhead to bring up their last encounter. Hiei didn’t want to be reminded of the fool that he was or the utter embarrassment he had felt for the first time in his life, of which he didn’t like at all!
Hiei has always heard the tales and legends about Youko Kurama. How could he not. The fox’s cunning, his thievery, and most of all his countless flings, just to get whatever the hell he wanted. Kurama was either feared or lusted after by every demon in the Makai. Now that word has spread that he is actually alive, it's just that much worse. The human blood in him did nothing to downgrade his good looks either.
Truth was, Hiei liked the redhead form more. There was almost an innocence that surrounded him now, though Kurama was far from innocent even in that human form. Hiei was sure the fox has had his pick of lovers and probably has bedded many. Not that Hiei hasn’t had his share of lovers too. He may look young, but that is where it ends.
Hiei knew what he was doing when it came to sex. He may not be Youko Kurama caliber, but he knew how to please and have his partner wanting more. Though he has never been topped before, something he was quite proud of, and has vowed to himself that he will never be the one on the bottom. He was just too dominate to allow that, too untrusting to allow anyone else that type of control over him.
On the other side of his thoughts, Hiei feels real jealousy when he sees someone paying extra attention to his fox, jealousy that he keeps deeply hidden. His fox, his fox, he didn’t recall when he started calling the redhead that in his mind, but he hadn’t stopped it either. It was stupid, but he feels he should be the redhead’s only lover. He feels like the fox should belong to only him although he knew Kurama will never belong to anybody.
Besides why would Kurama want him anyway? Hiei truly believed that he was nothing to no one. His own people tossed him out when he was a baby to die on the ground below. He harbored no delusions that Kurama would have no problem doing the same when he got tired of him. According to the legends, most of Kurama’s flings lasted one night if that. Hiei really didn’t know if he could take it if the fox was to toss him out like trash too. Therefore, he kept his feelings hidden from everyone including said fox.
It was hard to believe even for Hiei himself, the forbidden one, the impenetrable demon that he is has fallen hard for the only demon that had no use for him, not when the fox had so many others wanting him. Hiei was positive that Kurama only put up with him when he had to. So, why was he so afraid to go see him for help? The reason is he had touched the redhead without his permission. That was one of the few lines demons did not cross. Now Hiei didn't want to go back to have Kurama either humiliate him or kill him, maybe even both.
Hiei glanced down to his arm, which was still bleeding, as was his leg, but not as bad. Well at this point he really didn’t have a choice, he had to have some help and Kurama was the only choice. Hiei stood up and started flitting through the trees towards Kurama's house with his mind set to leave if one wrong word is said or one wrong move.

Kurama stretched, looking at the clock. He had been lying in the bed for an hour thinking about Hiei. He turned over to his side and pulled the covers up to his shoulder determined to get some sleep. He took a cleansing breath, trying to clear his mind. Kurama glanced to the window and was only slightly startled to see two ruby red eyes staring back at him. He quickly got up, went to the window, and opened it.
"Long time no see, Hiei." Kurama offered quietly, sitting down on the windowsill.
"What are you talking about? You saw me today." Hiei replied as he squatted on the branch in front of him, which really didn’t help the gash in his leg.
"That is not what I mean and you know it. Why did you stop coming by?"
"I had my reasons." Hiei’s growl was low and dangerous, he didn’t like being pushed. He was about to take off and forget about the healing. The bleeding would stop eventually or he would die, at this point he didn’t care.
"Fine, be that way. It’s not like I did anything wrong." Kurama stood up and stepped to the side. "You can come in if you want."
The fire demon looked at the fox trying to decide if he should run or accept the invitation. When Hiei didn't move, Kurama shrugged his shoulders and walked back towards the bed. He sure wasn't going to force the fire demon to do anything that he didn't want and he sure as hell wasn’t going to beg. Hiei was not one to be pushed, the more you did the more he rebelled. That would not help the situation they were now in. Kurama smiled to himself when he heard feet hit the floor behind him. He was not prepared for what he saw when he turned around though.
"Hiei! You're still bleeding!" Kurama’s eyes roamed over the smaller demon, taking in the sight of all the blood.
"I know that, Fox! I used too much energy in the battle so I can't stop the blood from flowing." Hiei spat, angry at himself for being so stupid.
"Well, if you had let me see about you earlier you wouldn't be in as bad of shape as you are now! You're so obstinate!" Kurama countered angrily, believing the other's anger was directed at him. The fire demon glared at him a few moments before turning his back on him.
"I'm leaving." Hiei muttered, jumping onto the windowsill.
Kurama knew he had only seconds, if that, to stop his love from flitting away quite possibly for good this time. He reached out his hand to try to grab him before the fire demon leaped off into the night.
